In the Aude, Languedoc-Roussillon, come and discover the charm of Saint-Pierre La Mer! Ideally located between Narbonne and the Mediterranean Sea, this seaside resort on a human scale depends on the commune of Fleury. Its fine sandy beach has been attracting holidaymakers for a long time during the summer season. Stretching over 6.5 km, it is the main center of activities during the summer. First of all, you can go to the Espace Beach to practice physical activities such as beach volleyball, beach soccer and beach rugby. Composed of a 1300 m² playground, it is the ideal place for family fun. Since 2012, there is also a beach library for those who want to relax in the sun. You can borrow books and magazines for free to devour on a terrace of about 30 square meters. Fishing enthusiasts can go to the Roc de la Batterie, which divides the beach in two.
If you prefer a sporty vacation, the Etang de Pissevaches, located a hundred meters from the sea, allows you to discover several water sports. The School of Sailing, Kitesurf and Wadepark offers courses and training courses of water sports as well as kayak rentals. In addition, it hosts the European Junior Kitesurfing Cup every April. For those who prefer to keep their feet on the ground, the Domaine de l'Oustalet has an equestrian center, with a pony club for children, an exhibition of antique objects and carriage rides.
Saint-Pierre la Mer is not to be outdone in terms of landscape. The Gouffre de l'Œil Doux, a unique geological monument, offers an unexpected spectacle for visitors. Between the 40 meter high walls is an emerald green expanse of water that is the source of many astonishing legends.
The seaside resort does not lack entertainment. It hosts the largest market on the coast where you can discover local and seasonal products. In summer, about forty merchants also gather from 18h in a night market.

Especially not eating "Au Matelot" is simply horrible. Prefer "Le Pallanium" or the restaurant "L'Enigme": the staff is friendly, responsive and the food... huummm

Saint Pierre la Mer is a small resort on a human and family scale where it is good to spend a family holiday. The beaches are vast and their completely free parking allows you to keep your budget for much more pleasant things, it's a real plus. However, we preferred July to August, which is more touristy and therefore more "full". July is much more family for our taste! We will certainly be back for several more years.

Visit of the Fleury huts: a small port that retains the authenticity of yesteryear and the charm of the villages of yesteryear. A walk not to be missed. In Gruissan, Plage du Grazel: Restaurant "Les 4 Coins" to be tested, super welcome by the owner, served quickly and delicious. From the starter to the dessert, everything was perfect.
