The village of Villesèque-des-Corbières is located in the department of Aude, in the Occitanie region. A village of less than 400 souls in the year, it is located in the heart of the Corbières, in the Fontfroide massif, just west of Sigean. Here, everything makes you want to take your time: the village is made up of beautiful houses sometimes in stone, sometimes topped with orange tiles typical of this pretty corner of France, houses along the streets that climb, that climb to offer from the top of the village very beautiful views of the surrounding vegetation. Watered by numerous streams, the village is a small Eden of peace, perfect for hiking. Our advice? Climb to the top of the orientation table of Mont Saint-Victor! Located in the neighbouring commune of Fontjoncouse, just on the northern border of the village, this unobstructed viewpoint will offer you crazy views of the Pic Saint-Victor, the Pyrenees, the Montagne Noire and the nearby Mediterranean Sea!

Villesèque-des-Corbières is located in a particularly privileged position, 20 minutes from the Berre river and about 30 kilometres from the wonderful beaches of the Mediterranean. In the surrounding area, there are several sites to add to your holiday to-do list, including the magnificent church of Notre-Dame-des-Oubiels in the neighbouring commune of Portel-des-Corbières, and the wine estate of Château Saint-Esteve. The African reserve of Sigean is a must, as is the Château de Peyrepertuse or the Abbaye de Fontfroide nestled in the heart of the Corbières in the middle of a wooded setting of pine and cypress trees! A Cistercian building open to the public, it enchants with the beauty of its stained glass windows, its Romanesque cloister, its gardens and its famous rose garden! Depending on the time of year, you can attend shows, classical music concerts, or even take the opportunity to taste the AOP Corbières wines from the estate! Still in the area, the Castle of Aguilar, that of Opoul, but also the fortress of Salses-le-Château are to be seen, unless you prefer sporting escapades in the heart of the gorges of Gouleyrous where lovers of canyoning and quiet swimming will be able to give themselves to joy. Moreover, the sea is only a few minutes away from the heart of the village of Villesèque-des-Corbières, so it will be easy for you to enjoy the pleasures of the coast without the crowds! On the side of Le Barcarès, in addition to the bathing and the idleness on the hot sand, you will be able to practise a whole heap of nautical activities according to your desires! Water-skiing, scuba diving, paddle, sailing, jet-skiing, towed buoys, water jumping, wakeboarding, surfing and other sensational activities for the whole family will be the icing on the cake of this stay in the Occitanie region.
