Perched between 667 and 844 meters of altitude in the heart of the region Nouvelle Aquitaine, Bugeat is one of these small villages of Corrèze that we love. On the foothills of the Massif Central, in the natural region of the Plateau de Millevaches known to nature lovers for its unique ecosystem, its numerous cattle farms but also its peat bogs and springs, Bugeat is a traditional agricultural destination. Also known for its granite which, after extraction from its subsoil, is used in large part to build the houses of the commune, Bugeat has become since the end of the 20th century a destination of choice for those who love green tourism.

The town of Bugeat is worth a visit: with its narrow streets full of granite houses, its beautiful contemporary sculptures and its authentic church decorated with splendid stained glass windows, Bugeat is definitely a place where you feel good, as if you were at home, so much so that both the places and the inhabitants are welcoming. You will discover the church of Saint-Pardoux in Romanesque style, but also many farms, crosses and fountains that give the village a picturesque side that we love.

A hiking paradise, Bugeat has a whole bunch of itineraries that are absolutely perfect for quiet walks as well as for more sporty strolls. Our advice? Don't miss the circuit on the heights of the village: 14 kilometers long, it will offer you magnificent panoramas on the Plateau de Millevaches! On foot, by car or by bike, you can take advantage of your vacations in Bugeat to discover some of the most beautiful treasures of the Corrèze! A few kilometers from the town, the Cascade du saut de la Virole is worth seeing, as well as the abandoned village of Clédat, but also the Gallo-Roman site of Les Cars, the panoramic tower of Mont Bessou, or the Château de Chastagnol. And how can we not mention the local star: the Vézère! With the Lake of Viam, it is the ideal place for quiet walks by the water!
