Ah, Erquy and its cliffs... How can you not succumb to them? Bordered by water with a thousand shades of blue, the seaside resort of Erquy is the ideal place to stroll, sail and hike under the sun of the Côtes-d'Armor.

Erquy is first of all a charming village, known to all and especially to Uderzo: history tells us that it is its beaches, its coast and its typical Breton lanes that would have inspired the famous designer to sketch the outlines of the village of Asterix and Obelix, the most irreducible of all the Gauls. Capital of the scallop, the "Pecten Maximus", Erquy celebrates every three years (alternating with its neighbours Loguivy and Saint-Quay Portrieux) the "Festival of the Scallop": in addition to concerts, shows and tastings, this event is the perfect opportunity for young and old to discover the local queen by auction or on the plate, the star of all the good restaurants in Erquia.

Erquy is also a port, living at the rhythm of the tides. During the day, in the evening, in winter or in summer, it reveals its charms to those who know how to appreciate them, dominated by its small lighthouse perched 10 metres high. Armorican pride, it is the first fishing port for scallops and prairie. We recommend that you visit it, especially when the fishermen return from the sea, or at sunset for a colourful stroll to the sound of the boats rattling.

Erquy is also a coastline, a wonderful coastline made up of ten fine sandy beaches and pink sandstone cliffs. Its moors of gorse and heather yellow in spring and purple in summer, its fragrant pine woods, its coastal paths and its expanses of fine sand and pebbles seduce many vacationers who love adventure and the great outdoors every year. The seaside resort is well known to walkers and other hikers for its many hiking trails: whether they are hiking, horseback riding or cycling, these coastal routes will take you to Lamballe, Plurien, Plévenon, Jugon-les-Lacs, Moncontour, Pléneuf-Val-André, but also to Saint-Cast-le-Guildo, the neighbouring Cap Fréhel and the fairytale Fort la Latte which keeps the Cap from its cliff. If there is one path known to lovers of Brittany, it is the GR34: along the coastline of the town for 15 kilometres, the one also called the "Sentier des Douaniers" will allow you to contemplate the most beautiful landscapes that the Côte d'Émeraude offers on the ocean from Erquy and its neighbouring seaside resorts. By mountain bike, three 15, 26 and 45 kilometre loops start in Erquy, where multiple greenways and cycle routes allow you to enjoy peaceful walks in the resort.

Finally, Erquy, they are also beaches, 10 to be precise, all more beautiful than the other. They are among the most splendid in the region. Family, friendly, dynamic or wild, they will satisfy all your desires! The one in Saint-Pabu is one of the most sporty: paragliding, kitesurfing, sailing, bodyboarding, surfing, but also jet-skiing or paddle, the choice of activities is wide. The beach of Les Montiers will charm lovers of calm just like the beach of La Fosse Eyrand, when families will move more towards the beach of Centre and the beach of Caroual. The wild beach of Le Poutouais will delight you with its magnificent setting and vegetation, while Le Guen, considered the most beautiful beach in the resort, will delight all holidaymakers. Its calm, its wild part, its wide fine sandbank, its turquoise water and its colored moors are really worth a visit for long breaks under the Eskimo sun.
