A seaside and climatic resort listed since 1921 and 1930, Saint-Quay-Portrieux is located in the Côtes-d'Armor department. Capital of the scallop, between Binic-Étables-sur-Mer and the legendary cliffs of Plouha, Saint-Quay-Portrieux is located 20 kilometres north of Saint-Brieuc. Appreciated by bathers for many years, this charming destination is also appreciated by yachtsmen and sailors, thanks to its beaching port and its deep-water port, the 6th largest fishing port in France, which also welcomes a number of private boats. Point of departure for schooners at sea for the great fishing since the eighteenth century, Saint-Quay-Portrieux has become over the years a popular destination for sea bathing, thanks to the natural beauty of its beaches. In total, 5 beaches of fine sand and 2 beaches dot the coastline of the town, beaches that will undoubtedly agree to all your desires. The Casino beach is THE big beach of the resort. A family beach par excellence, with its fine sand and its breathtaking view of the sea, it is located in the heart of the resort and benefits from a privileged location just a few steps from the Casino, as its name indicates, but also from the restaurants with terraces, cafés and the resort's mini-golf course. With its beach clubs, it delights the little ones but also the adults who will be able to find time to discover the joys of paddle, canoeing, diving, sailing, kitesurfing or kayaking. It is also famous for its seawater pool which, in addition to delighting children who can easily swim there at low tide, is a well-known photo spot in the region. Behind the seawater pool, it is the wilder Châtelet beach that will charm those who love character. Overlooked by the semaphore, and well sheltered from the wind thanks to its cliff, it can be discovered after a few moments of walking via the GR34, which runs along the entire town and will allow you to discover the most beautiful panoramas. In addition to these beaches, there is the discreet Grève Noire, the beach of the Comtesse dominated by the castle of Calan, the beach of Portrieux, the Grève de Fonteny in the heart of the rocks, without forgetting the Grève de l'Isnain behind the eponymous point, which will delight lovers of tranquillity and climbing.

After taking the time to discover the seaside of Saint-Quay-Portrieux, on foot or by bike, via the beaches or the GR34, head to the heart of the resort to discover its impressive heritage! To see? The Sainte-Anne chapel, the 16th century Tertre manor house, the neo-Byzantine Ker Moor villa, the Arletty cinema (opened in 1927 by Josephine Baker), not forgetting the Château de Calan, the Notre-Dame de la Garde chapel, the Saint-Michel mill and the Saint-Quay fountain, whose water is considered miraculous. Perfectly situated to visit the Granite Coast and the Emerald Coast. The cliff road is magnificent. You can also walk on the GR34 without necessarily being a very big walker.

This year I discovered Île Grande. It's not very close, a good hour's drive, but it's a paradisiacal place, it's like swimming in a lagoon with turquoise waters. In addition the tranquility is assured, tourists do not jostle each other.
