Located on the edge of a protected coastline, the city of Arcachon is one of the largest seaside resorts on the Atlantic coast. Between pine forests, dream villas and fine sandy beaches, the city of Arcachon is the ideal place to put down your suitcases, alone, with family or friends.
The largest city of the Arcachon Basin, the town is divided into four districts, named "spring city", "summer city", "fall city" and "winter city". In this last one, you will discover the magnificent villas perched on the heights of the city. Some of them, typical and colorful, are classified as historical monuments, such as the villa Tolédo, near the Parc Mauresque, and the villa Faust located in the alley of the same name.
Looking for an authentic visit? Stop by an oyster farmer for an oyster tasting! The cuisine of the Bay of Arcachon is halfway between land and sea: traditional and generous, its flavors are varied. Fish, foie gras, seafood and local desserts accompanied by local wines will delight your taste buds.
For relaxation, put your umbrella on one of the beaches of Arcachon: 7 kilometers of fine sand will delight swimmers, water sports enthusiasts and idlers. The downtown beach runs along the seafront promenade: with its two piers, this beach is the starting point for many boat trips to the Cabanes Tchanquées and the Île aux Oiseaux. The Plage Pereire offers a magnificent view of the Cap Ferret peninsula, where you will find peace and quiet. Sportsmen will not fail to visit the Plage des Abatilles and the Arbousiers, a favorite place for windsurfers and kitesurfers.
An exceptional natural area located between the Landes forest and the Atlantic Ocean, Arcachon and its basin are ideal for outdoor activities: tennis, beach volleyball, climbing in the trees, petanque, golf, horseback riding, there is something for everyone.
You can also take advantage of these vacations to learn stand-up paddle or catamaran, fly over the Arcachon basin in a paraglider, discover the surrounding villages by bicycle and go around the basin by boat. You will never tire of walking along the seashore: the omnipresent nature and the pine forests bring softness and serenity.
Finally, don't leave without taking a look at the Port of Arcachon and the Belvedere located on the Sainte-Cécile dune: the panorama of the sea is exceptional.

This year was a bit special (covid), the public outings were more limited but in each shop and with each shopkeeper, the same pleasant welcome. Even if it must be acknowledged, customers were not always as courteous and respectful of the environment.

Very pleasant seaside trampoline for children... and adults. Magnificent zoo: many animals, well visible... a little expensive. Reception in the pleasant shops. However, to get to Cap Ferret: avoid the car, favour boat access via the Arcachon basin. At Cap Ferret: restaurant "L'Escale", very pleasant setting ( "feet in the water"), smiling service at all times.

The opportunity for you to take advantage of the setting of the Pereire beach to (re)discover some practices. On Saturday? It's yoga and tai chi from 9:30 am. On Sunday? With his giant and colorful works, he captivates young and old alike and after having been acclaimed in London, Paris, New York, Singapore and Courchevel, it is in Arcachon that the artist is settling down!
