Between sea and mountains, Haute-Corse welcomes you for a stay under the sign of diversity and escape. From the luminous Balagne to the fabulous Costa Verde, passing by the Cap Corse, you will succumb to the beauty Its sunny beaches, its heritage and its grandiose landscapes.
With the Ligurian Sea on the west coast and the Tyrrhenian Sea on the east coast, Haute-Corse invites you to discover all the facets of the Mediterranean. But whatever coast you choose, you will always find long sandy beaches or small paradise coves to rest, swim or practice many water sports. At the border of the two seas, enjoy the wild coast of Cape Corsica that will take you from beaches (Nonza, Tamarone...) to small fishing villages (Centuri, Erbalunga...). You will also be seduced by the archipelago of the Finocchiarola islands, a nature reserve that is home to many seabirds : Audouin gulls, crested cormorants...
Then, discover the beautiful cities of Haute-Corse. Enjoy the Mediterranean atmosphere of Bastia, founded by the Genoese in the 14th century. As you stroll through the city, you will be able to admire a rich architectural and religious heritage such as the old port, the citadel, the ramparts, the Place Saint-Nicolas and the Saint-Jean-Baptiste church. Visit also Corte, former capital of Corsica, for its citadel perched on a promontory, its beautiful church of the Annunciation and its National Palace which hosts the museum of Corsica. Then go to Calvi, the Genoese, for the beautiful citadel that overlooks it but also its narrow cobbled streets, ramparts and salt tower.
A land of hiking and cycling, Haute-Corse also invites you to go through its many pedestrian and cycling paths. Following them, you can discover other magnificent sites such as the Conca d'Oro, with its menhirs, Romanesque churches and the beautiful city of Saint-Florent, the vineyards around Patrimonio, the Ostriconi valley and its fabulous Medieval village of Lama. On the Costa Serena, visit Aleria, the ancient capital of Corsica with many Persian, Carthaginian, Etruscan and Roman remains. But also enjoy the villages in the hinterland of Balan, south of Ile-Rousse : Belgodère, Speloncato... Finally, taste the local flavors : sardines with brocciu, fish soup, veal with olives, cheeses, wines...

The beaches in the direction of Calvi or Ile Rousse are very pretty. Take the time to visit Occi, the ruined village above Lumio. Watch out, it climbs! The village Sant'antonino (classified as the most beautiful village in France) is charming. Beware, paying car park! For the most courageous, possibility to go up from the village Pigna. Adapted shoes essential!
