In the heart of the Haut-Chablais valley, at an altitude of 800 metres, the charming mountain village of Saint-Jean-d'Aulps is located at the gateway to Morzine-Avoriaz. In the heart of the mountains halfway between Mont Blanc and Lake Geneva, at the foot of the imposing Roc d'Enfer perched at an altitude of 2244 metres, the typical Haute-Savoyard village of Saint-Jean-d'Aulps is a small white paradise in which you should recharge your batteries during winter holidays. Far from crowded slopes and concrete resorts, this resort, nestled in a wilderness setting, offers a unique sliding area of more than 40 kilometres of slopes for thrill seekers, while novices can make their mark on the soft slopes of the beginner's area. In detail, the resort offers around thirty downhill ski slopes, for 16 lifts, including 4 chairlifts: you will find 7 green slopes, 9 blue slopes, 12 red slopes and 2 black slopes for the more adventurous. If you like Nordic activities and cross-country skiing or hiking, the resort also has a superb circuit in the heart of the fir trees of its 20 km long forest that will allow you to enjoy beautiful escapes into the open air, in the heart of nature. Not far away, Lake Montriond, absolutely magnificent, is also very popular for this more sporty skiing practice. Do you like nature excursions away from the beaten track? Pic de la Corne, Roc de Tavaneuse, Pointe d'Entre Deux Pertuis and Pointe de la Croix will no longer have any secrets for snowshoe enthusiasts who can, accompanied by guides or not, discover the peaks surrounding the resort as well as the most beautiful mountain pastures of the Aulps Valley, such as those of Lens, La Chaux, des Fours and Graydon. In addition to snowshoeing, during the winter, there are many activities that you can do with your family or friends: luge, yooner, ski jöring, hot-air balloon, fitness, paragliding and snowboarding, you will necessarily find what you are looking for. Lovers of extraordinary experiences can opt for ice diving or ice fishing at Lake Montriond, only 8 kilometres from the village of Saint-Jean-d'Aulps.
When the mountains are adorned with their thick green down and the sun shines high above the peaks and valleys, the Aluns Valley turns into a rejuvenating green bubble where you will love to have a good time.
