Built at the foot of an ancient volcano, Cap d'Agde has its feet in the water. The Mediterranean Sea bathes this seaside resort mainly known for its marina and its busy nightlife. The beaches are also part of the must-see. There is that of the Pinewood and that of the Tamarissière, but also that of the Grau D'Agde which revives the old fishing village. Located a few steps from the city center, the Grau d'Agde has developed especially during the second half of the 20th century. The local festivities, from the Feast of the Sea to the Fishermen's Day, reflect the maritime history of the place. Local specialty, Cap d'Agde also houses a naturist village. Those who prefer to avoid the sea baths will always be able to fall back on the aquatic park Aqualand Cap d'Agde, the largest in Europe. Giant slides, wave pools and fast rivers will delight fans of thrills.
Near the Cap d'Agde, one can visit the Pays de Thau, a natural space of gigantic proportions consisting of a palette of colors ranging from blue to orange tones. Whether you cross the vineyards, hike the Canal du Midi by bike or ride the Gorges de l'Hérault by canoeing, you will inevitably be amazed by these immensities. After a sports day, what could be more relaxing than sitting on a terrace to enjoy a glass of the famous Muscat de Frontignan ? To consume in moderation, it goes without saying.
Last stop, the town of Sete baptized "Island Singular" by the writer Paul Valéry. The latter is not the only artist to have sung the praises of this Venice of the South of France, since Georges Brassens also marked its indelible imprint on the local cultural heritage. Naturally, concerts, festivals and plays follow each other all summer to honor the memory of these great names of French culture.

I recommend Tieillerie Delpeche, the restaurants Le Corail and Les trésors de la mer, Cece Pizza and Raphaël Catering. They have very good food and fresh products.

Recommended restaurants where we were very well received and served, with good value for money: "La Pâte à Crêpe" downstairs from the apartment on the port, "El Dorado Grill" located next to Luna Park (av. du passeur Challies). Another idea: you will find seafood and paella platters at reasonable prices at Hyper U. Idea for outing : on the port you will find Trans Cap Croissières, sea walk with underwater vision, interesting with children as well as Luna Park, and the little train...

More like two bad plans to discourage: "The Harlequin" who used to make good sangria before at a fair price has raised its prices well and the sangria with a good dose of water. The restaurant "La Joute" (along the harbour) which welcomes you like a dog in a bowling game after 13h30 ,which does not offer an aperitif and refuses to serve you the special dish because it is too late ...we are stupid too, we thought we were on holiday.....

On July 30th and 31st, it's the Fête de la Mer in Cap d'Agde. Alternating moments of emotion, meditation and celebration, the Fête de la Mer is a true declaration of love to the Mediterranean.
