In the department of Isère, a few steps from the border with the Rhône, Bonnefamille is about 40 minutes drive from Lyon and 22 kilometres from Vienne. Between nature and culture, authenticity and dynamism, it is the perfect destination for holidays in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

Between the western edge of the Bas-Dauphiné plateau and the Lyon plain, Bonnefamille is one of those destinations that is little known to holidaymakers. And yet... It is the perfect place for a quiet break with the family or as a couple! With a history dating back more than 5,000 years, as evidenced by the presence of Neolithic hearths and burials discovered in the hamlet of Ponas, Bonnefamille has seen the Celts, then the Gallo-Romans who have left their mark on the area, particularly in the hamlet of Le Mouton. It is through its ancient stones that the village tells visitors the treasures of its history. On the village side, you can discover the Saint-Antoine church, the Bonnefamille barn (which was once part of the Bonnevaux Abbey founded in the 12th century), the Maison Forte du Puy located at the exit of the village, the Château de l'Alouette (also called "La Maison Vacher"), or the magnificent Château de Moidière. Built around 1660, this castle with its magnificent park is listed in the inventory of Historic Monuments. In addition to its charming architecture, its staircases, its library and its listed interior decorations, it is worth a visit for its immense park of 30 hectares, composed of woods, ponds and a nature reserve. Our advice? Take the time to visit the arboretum and stroll through the park to discover the many animals that inhabit it. You may be lucky enough to come across fallow deer, ibex, storks, owls, foxes, hinds, coypu, a whole host of birds as well as lynxes and wolves.

A land of escape and adventure, Bonnefamille is a veritable nature paradise which will undoubtedly delight lovers of green holidays. In order to allow you to visit the town and its surroundings, the commune of Bonnefamille has set up a number of hiking trails, perfect for discovering the village, its heritage and the local flora. The "Sentier de Comberousse" of 12.5 kilometres or the "Sentier de l'Alouette" of nearly 17 kilometres will allow walkers, mountain bikers and horse riders to discover the village via marked routes which pass through many remarkable sites, such as the marshes, The marshes, the ponds, the site of the Tower, the viewpoint of Ponas, the Croix de la Roche and many other places, which will offer you splendid panoramas on the main mountainous massifs of the region which are the Vercors, the Alps or the Chartreuse and the Monts du Lyonnais.
