A holiday, yes... but a unique holiday, allowing you to be close to nature and away from the crowds of big cities: this is what the municipality of Trept offers. Located about fifty kilometres east of Lyon, it is the perfect place for a stay in the countryside.

Historical, cultural, conducive to adventure and change of scenery, Trept has all the assets for those seeking peace and quiet. When passing through Trept, how can you miss out on its rich heritage? Its high residences made of old ochre stones and lime will delight architecture fans. During your walks in the city, you will certainly come across old ovens, wash houses and fountains, but also beautiful witnesses of medieval military architecture. The most beautiful example is certainly the imposing Château de Serrières: also known as "Château de la Poype de Serrières", this former 13th century fortified town impresses by the size of its ramparts. A true feudal fortress typical of the buildings of the time, it was built on a promontory in the heart of a large 40-hectare park. Its walkway, turret, battlements and copper roofs give it a unique charm: during your visit, you will absolutely have to enjoy its splendid views over the vast wooded valleys of the region. The Saint-Didier de Cozance chapel is also worth a visit: camped on its hill at an altitude of 291 metres, this chapel dates back to the very end of the 14th century. Particular curiosity: its original bell having been broken, it had been replaced during the year 1835... then baptized! This unique bell has a godmother and a godfather, but the story does not end there because the latter is even registered in the civil registry. During your stay, you will be able to hear the bell of the Saint-Didier chapel ringing "Madame"!

Choosing the city of Trept for your holidays also means choosing a destination rich in a remarkable natural heritage. The surroundings of the town are dotted with a string of lakes and ponds, perfect places to cool off during summer hikes. On foot, by bike, on horseback or by motorcycle, there are many sites and itineraries waiting for you during your stay: the Pulsatilles path, the green path of the Balcons du Dauphiné, but also Crémieux and its magnificent medieval city (9 kilometres), the pond of Moras (8 kilometres), the Château du Marteray (12 kilometres), Saint-Chef and its abbey town (9 kilometres), Morestel, the beloved of painters (14 kilometres), the Save lake (14 kilometres), the banks of the Rhône (15 kilometres), the medieval ruins of Quirieu (18 kilometres), the lakes of the Serre (13 kilometres) and those of Fenières are among the must-see places to visit. Finally, staying in Trept also means enjoying the delights of Dauphinese and Isère cuisine. On the menu? Ravioles, donkey ears (a dish made from spinach), but also turtons from Champsaur, stuffed with Oisan, quail from Trièves, Marcelline, gratin dauphinois, pie muroise, ice cream with Chartreuse, tomme de Belledonne, bleu du Vercors, Saint-Marcellin, pogne and other buffets from Mens will take you on a delicious tasteful journey.
