On the coast of Jade, in the Loire-Atlantique department, lies the seaside resort of Pornic. During your stay by the sea, allow yourself a few moments of relaxation and well-being, alone, as a couple or with your family in one of the most beautiful sites on the Atlantic coast. Ideally located, Pornic will give you access to the salt marshes of Guérande and Nantes in less than an hour.
If the resort has been famous for decades for its maritime activities, it still lives today at the rhythm of the waves. On the program of your stay ? After packing your bags, enjoy a stroll through the old fishing port of Pornic, along the quays and through its medieval city. On foot, on horseback or by bicycle, the ideas for walks are varied within the seaside resort : breathe the good Breton air during an outing around the pond of Val Saint Martin, in the shade of the trees. Stroll along the marina, at the foot of Pornic Castle (built in the 13th century, it is also called Bluebeard Castle) and along the customs trail that stretches along the coastline of the town.
For swimming, the city has over 12 kilometers of coastline, where you will find many beaches with orange sand and wild coves. The ideal way to discover all these coves is to take the customs path along the cliffs : you will certainly come across small rocky coves, secret and intimate, perfect for strolling in front of azure water. The largest beach, very popular with young people and families, is Noëveillard beach. Sheltered from the winds and leaning against the marina, you will appreciate its typical side with its old wooden bathing cabins. Further east (at the thalassotherapy centre) is one of Pornic's most famous beaches: La Source. Famous for its Malmy spring (considered miraculous, many people from Nantes came to take care of themselves there), it is however little frequented by summer visitors but proves to be a perfect place for relaxation and swimming (unsupervised). You will not be able to swim on the beach of the cove aux Lapins (it is in the port area), nevertheless, the place deserves the detour. Very popular at the time of sea bathing, it is ideal for sunbathing or for taking part in sandcastle competitions, but it is also a popular spot for photographers who come to immortalise the sunset over the port. Water sports aficionados will be able to dinghy, windsurf, along the coast (hiking in the water), catamaran or row, water skiing and kayaking in the waters of Pornic.
Relax and fully enjoy the benefits of sea water by taking a break in one of the city's wellness areas. Massages at the thalassotherapy centre, spa, hammam and sauna at the Aquacentre, aquabike lessons, swimming pool, jacuzzis and bubble beds at the Club Alliance de Pornic: everything is done so that you can enjoy your holidays and get rid of the stress accumulated during the year.
Finally, in terms of flavours, you will have the opportunity to discover the natural benefits of Retz spirulina, to taste oysters from the Bay of Bourgneuf, mussels from La Plaine-sur-Mer, the Curé Nantais (a raw milk cheese produced in Pornic), ice cream from La Fraiseraie and wines from the region. Brigantine beer brewed by the Brasserie de la Côte de Jade is also one of the local specialities, to be enjoyed facing the sea at sunset.

We loved running on the way to the Corniche. It is possible to go as far as Sainte Marie. We visited the Croisic and its wild beaches. Pornic with its port. The island of Noirmoutier by the Goi and the bridge on the way back. It is impressive. We also visited the Papillorama : it's great.
