The department has no less than 42 bastides, cities built in the Middle Ages around a central square decorated with arcades. The most famous of them is without any doubt Monflanquin, classified among the most beautiful villages of France. While visiting it you can admire the house of the Black Prince, the church of Saint-Andre and the castle of Roquefère. With 4500 km of marked trails, the Lot-et-Garonne is a real Eden for hikers who will be able to take the Clunisien trail linking the priory of Moirax to the cloister of Moissac.
