Regrouping the three departments of Aisne, Oise and Somme, Picardy offers a vast diversity of landscapes. Between the bay of the Somme, the Amiens region, the Marne valley and the Laon region, your stay will be full of surprises and many moments of wonder.
Classified as one of the most beautiful bays in the world, the Somme Bay is one of the exceptional sites in Picardy. Between cliffs, beaches, dunes and marshes, it offers sublime panoramas where sky and sea intertwine. A refuge for many migratory birds, notably in the Marquenterre nature reserve, it is also home to the largest French seal colony. In the heart of the bay or nearby, many seaside resorts invite you to enjoy this magnificent setting: Le Crotoy, Cayeux-sur-Mer, Quend, Mers-les-Bains... These charming and picturesque resorts also allow you to practice many water sports such as sailing, paddle, kite-surfing, kayaking, canoeing...
After this exploration of the coastline, go and discover the big cities of Picardy. The regional capital, Amiens, is full of fabulous places and monuments. In the historical center, admire the Notre-Dame cathedral, a masterpiece of Gothic architecture, the belfry and the house of Jules Verne. But also take a boat ride on the canals that cross the Hortillonnages, floating gardens built by the Romans. Then go to Laon to see its famous crowned mountain and its 68 buildings classified as historical monuments (Notre-Dame cathedral, episcopal palace, Hôtel-Dieu...). In Oise, enjoy the cities of Beauvais (Saint-Pierre cathedral, Maladrerie Saint-Lazare de Voisinlieu, Galerie nationale de la tapisserie) and Compiègne (castle, Saint-Corneille abbey, national stud farm).
Then take advantage of the great natural spaces of Picardy to spend some time. On foot, explore the shores of the Somme Bay, the trails of the Crécy forest, near Forest-Montiers, or the trails of the Val de Serre. By bike or mountain bike, discover the Oise-Pays de France natural park or take the "green way" of the Somme canal. But also enjoy many other leisure activities such as horse riding, canoeing, climbing, archery, especially in the green landscapes of the Thiérache. After a busy day, sit down on the terrace of a good restaurant to taste all the local specialties: seafood, ficelle picarde, maroilles pie, macaroons of Amiens, beaten cake...
