In Normandy, Dieppe is one of those destinations that cannot be ignored. Between history and gastronomy, green breaks and discoveries at sea, Dieppe is always a good idea for a romantic stopover or a family holiday. So pack your bags!

The town of Dieppe is located in the Seine-Maritime department. At the mouth of the Arques River, which flows into the English Channel, Dieppe is only 2 hours from Paris. Pride of the Alabaster Coast, Dieppe is nicknamed the "City of 4 ports". The oldest seaside resort in France, Dieppe, the elegant and refined, is where the very first sea baths were born. Close your eyes and imagine: here life is punctuated by the water and the harbours, which come to life thanks to the sailors and the songs of the seagulls and gulls that swirl over the quays while a sweet iodine scent perfumes the air. Known as one of the most attractive ports in Normandy, Dieppe and its heart beat to the rhythm of the sea. Dieppe fish is also very well known to gourmets, and as the saying goes: "Dieppe fish, fish of choice! A motto which you can verify yourself by pushing the door of one of the many restaurants of the city! On the menu? Fish, of course, but also (and above all!) scallops, because Dieppe is known as the leading French port for scallops. In carpaccio, in a cassolette, in a galette, Dieppoise style or Normandy style, the scallop can be eaten from every angle in the port of Dieppe! In addition to being a great place to dine and stroll, the main port of Dieppe is the perfect place to go to sea, but also to practice a whole range of water activities according to your desires: paddle, surfing, sea fishing, dinghy, kayak ... there will be something for everyone!

After discovering Dieppe on the port side, let's go to Dieppe on the city side. City of Art and History, Dieppe is a real open-air museum. It is not for nothing that many painters have one day been seduced by its light, like Boudin, Renoir or Picasso to name but a few! In terms of religious heritage, Dieppe is home to no less than fifteen churches and chapels, including the 16th century church of Saint-Rémy, known to be one of the most beautiful churches in Normandy. The church of Saint-Jacques in flamboyant and Renaissance style, or the church of Notre-Dame on the quay of the Somme are also worth seeing. On the list of must-sees, the Château de Dieppe occupies a place of choice: a vast fortified castle, it can be visited and offers a marvellous view of the whole town from its floors! Pass by the Quai Henri-IV to discover its restaurants and 17th century buildings, visit the Pollet district, an old fishermen's district with its picturesque little houses, pass by the Pont Ango, the Pont Colbert, the Quai Duquesne with its arcades of the Bourse, the Place du Puits-Salé, the Grande-Rue, the Caude-Côte district for its houses and cottages... Our advice? Go through the esplanade of the Castle-Museum to discover a fabulous panorama on the city as well as on the sea and the beaches!

Ah, the beaches of Dieppe... Known for hosting the International Kite Festival every two years, the beaches of Dieppe are family above all. Offering incredible views of the cliffs of the Côte d'Albâtre (a hiking paradise), these mostly pebbled beaches are loved for their setting and their vibrancy. In addition to swimming and lounging, you can enjoy a variety of water sports, for a total immersion in the seaside atmosphere that characterizes Dieppe.
