The small seaside resort of Sassetot-le-Mauconduit is located in the department of Seine-Maritime, in Normandy. Nearly 60 kilometres from Rouen, 30 kilometres from Étretat and 15 kilometres from Fécamp, it is situated in the heart of a jagged coastline renowned for its pebble beaches and chalk cliffs.

On the edge of the English Channel, the village of Sassetot-le-Mauconduit seduces as much as it fascinates thanks to the astonishing abrupt beauty of its coastline. On the Côte d'Albâtre, between two green valleys, this green holiday resort is home to a heritage of elegant architecture, typical of the region, which testifies to its rank and importance in the region. A popular destination, Sassetot-le-Mauconduit is known to have been the holiday resort of the Empress Sissi in the summer of 1875; therefore, to discover the contours of the town, the "Circuit Sissi" will be absolutely perfect. A loop between land and sea, it will take you through the Cauchois countryside and along the Albâtre Coast, for a journey back in time in the footsteps of Sissi. You will discover the woods of Pas Griand, the village of Petites Dalles with its half-timbered houses, the paths of the GR21, the village of Grandes-Dalles and the cliffs that border Sassetot-le-Mauconduit. But if it is a must on this route, and on your stay in Sassetot-le-Mauconduit, it is indeed its castle. The Château de Sissi, that's its name, has now become a hotel restaurant where you can enjoy delicious little dishes that showcase the local gastronomy (oysters, duck foie gras marinated in pommeau, smoked trout, calvados, poultry, local cheeses...). Nestling in a vast 11-hectare park, this 18th century castle is listed as a Historic Monument and is worth a look for its splendid architecture. On the village side, the 19th century church of Notre-Dame-de-la-Nativité and the 18th century Château de Briquedalles complete the inventory of places and monuments to visit in the commune.

After these visits to the city, why not opt for a horse ride on the GR21 trails? For a ride towards Fécamp to visit its Benedictine Palace, or for a ride on old rigging from its port? If there is one thing to do in Sassetot-le-Mauconduit, it is to swim, and it is neither Sissi nor her daughter who would contradict you! On the side of the Petites Dalles or the Grandes Dalles, the beaches are magnificent, and one would almost forget the small lack of comfort of the pebbles as the landscapes are so peaceful and splendid. From the beach of Les Petites Dalles, in addition to swimming and sunbathing, you can practice several water activities according to your desires, and rent paddles and kayaks to introduce you to the pleasures of water sports with your family!

Very good restaurants in the area, you still need to plan a good budget. I recommend the restaurant "La Marée" in Fécamp, "Les Frégates" in Veulette sur Mer, as well as "Le Rex" in Fécamp. For other small breweries and creperies: quite correct. Very pleasant welcome from the normans!
