If the place is popular with celebrities, it will surprise you with its simplicity and authenticity. Start your visit in the early morning to admire the sun rising over the old port of Saint-Tropez where boats and yachts have dropped anchor: for the time of a café on the terrace, you can enjoy the tranquility of this pretty village. Take the time to stroll along its charming streets typically Provencal where small shops and luxury signs mix. Then climb up to the Citadelle of Saint-Tropez : this 17th century listed monument is composed of an amazing hexagonal keep that is worth a look. From the heights of the building, you will have an exceptional panorama on the bay of Saint-Tropez.
Continue your walk towards the Musée de la Gendarmerie et du Cinéma, located not far from the port : during a visit, you will discover that Saint-Tropez and the 7th art has always been a beautiful love story. From Brigitte Bardot to Louis de Funès, many actors and directors have chosen Saint-Tropez as their setting. And there is enough to understand this choice by observing the superb panoramas that the city offers !
After these visits, head towards the beaches of the seaside resort : take the coastal path, from the Tour du Portalet to the magnificent beach of Pampelonne located on the town of Ramatuelle, passing by the famous Madrague of Brigitte Bardot and the Bay of Canebiers : the landscapes are sumptuous. Put your towel on the beach of Les Canoubiers, 4 kilometers from downtown. 200 metres long, it is popular with sailing enthusiasts thanks to its nautical centre. The beach of Moutte is undoubtedly the wildest of the beaches of Saint-Tropez : far from the crowded expanses, its turquoise water contrasts with the white of the sand and the green pine forest which borders the coast. The Flolaudis cove is five minutes walk away. This small, sandy and shady bay is a real little corner of paradise, where diving enthusiasts equipped with masks and snorkels will be able to observe the seabed in complete tranquillity. Finally, do not miss the Salins beach and its beautiful stretch of fine sand: here, calm and relaxation are on the programme facing the boats sailing offshore. Many nautical activities will be at your disposal during this stay : fly board, sailing, jet-ski and even climbing parachute, there will be something for everyone.
Walk along the quays, from where you will be able to observe, moored at the port, pretty fishing boats and huge yachts, properties of the wealthiest holidaymakers. Sit down in one of the many restaurants facing the sea to enjoy a good meal with family or friends. You will taste the generous and tasty cuisine, characteristic of the cities of Provence. Pistou soup, bouillabaisse, aïoli, pissaladière, tapenade and Tarte Tropézienne will be on the menu ! Finally, at nightfall, Saint-Tropez is transformed : in bars, clubs, discos and casinos, holidaymakers and celebrities mingle to the rhythm of the dance floor, until dawn.
