In the eponymous province, in the heart of Tuscany, Pistoia is located at the foot of the Apennines, 37 kilometers northwest of the famous Florence. In the heart of Italy, this city once renowned for its traditional leather and lace industries is now adored by visitors for its heritage, which is full of magnificent sites to discover. In the heart of the city center, you can discover almost a dozen churches and medieval houses, including the Podestà Palace, the Pieve Sant'Andrea, the Basilica of Our Lady of Humility, known for its dome and fresco, but also the Ospedale del Ceppo, the Church of St. John Outside the Walls, the Palazzo Comunale (municipal palace), the octagonal baptistery, the Gothic-style Palazzo Vescovi and the unmissable cathedral. Also known as the "Duomo of Pistoia", this unique cathedral impresses with its striped and colored facade that tirelessly fascinates and invites the visitor to push its door. Inside, you will discover an impressive set of works, as well as a vault particularly highlighted during night ceremonies. Protected by a 70 meter high belfry, it is THE monument not to be missed during any visit to Pistoia.
