A typical Portuguese village, Faro is undeniably welcoming, just like the towns that make up the district of the same name. Its pretty squares full of comfortable cafés, its restaurants of traditional cuisine where you can taste delicious seafood and its parks with abundant nature call for moments of calm and serenity. But its popularity comes from its "Capela dos Ossos", understand its "bone chapel", made up of skeletons and skulls of monks. Stroll through its orange trees, fountains, lemon trees, waterfall and palm trees for a true escapade of freshness.

In addition to its lush parks, cobbled streets and historic cities, the district of Faro is the ideal place for idleness. The beach "Praia de Barrinha", on the Ancao peninsula, is a famous surf spot in the area ; it is also lined with many restaurants perfect for discovering local dishes. Ilha Deserta" is a must see : as its name suggests, it is a deserted sandy island, perfect for long afternoons of relaxation in a dream setting. Dona Ana beach (in Lagos), the lively "Praia do Tunel" (in Albufeira), the very popular "Praia de Tavira" (in Tavira) and the "Praia da Rocha" (in Portimao) are among the most popular beaches in the Faro district.
