To the north-east of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Igueste de Candelaria is one of those little villages that make holidaymakers succumb to the temptation of a snap of the fingers. Igueste de Candelaria is a farming village, once known to the Guanches (the former inhabitants of the island who came here to make large collective burials facing the sea), Igueste de Candelaria is a sacred land. Marked by its strong architecture, typical of Tenerife and the Canary Islands, this authentic town has many small mills and ovens scattered here and there in its territory. Lovers of tranquillity will appreciate its legendary calm and peaceful atmosphere, while lovers of outdoor activities will enjoy the walking trails available in the municipality, especially through Camino Viego de Candelaria, which overlooks the whole village, and also in the Corona Natural Forest Park, without forgetting to stop off at the unspoilt views of Las Lagunetas. Also take time to stroll through the heart of the village to appreciate all its faces, take advantage of its shady squares for a relaxing stop, and don't miss a visit to its Church of the Holy Trinity, built in the 18th century. Finally, after this very urban stroll, how about a few dives into the warm waters of the Canary Sea?

A little further away from the coast, the centre of Igueste de Candelaria is only 2 kilometres from the most beautiful beaches of the Bay of Pulido. Whether you choose to put your towel down on the Playa de Cho Vito towards the Punta de las Tosquillas, on the Playa de las Caletas, the Playa de Punta Larga at Cabezo de la Barca or on the Playa de las Arenas towards the Punta Mondongo (famous for its magnificent black sand), you will in any case be able to enjoy all the advantages of this magnificent coastline.
