Ah, the Spanish beaches... Sunny, dynamic and festive, they attract many holidaymakers every year. Located on the Costa Daurada, just south of Tarragona, the seaside resort of La Pineda is no exception, offering its visitors an ideal setting for unforgettable family stays.
About ten kilometres from the seaside resort of Salou, La Pineda is the coastal area of the historic city of Vila-seca. In the heart of a thick pine forest, in an exceptional and particularly well preserved setting, La Pineda is above all a family seaside resort. During your holidays, leave your car in the car park to prefer to go out on foot or by bike, to discover everything that makes this popular destination so charming. Several sites are worth a visit, such as the Pinar de Perruquet Park, or the Sèquia Major Park: located on the coast, the latter is a huge wetland where fish, birds and turtles live in large numbers. But family activities do not stop there, as you can go to Aquapolis to see dolphins or swim with sea lions, as well as to the famous Port Aventura: known all over the world for its huge roller coaster and its large water slide (the largest in Europe), it is the most visited park in Spain. Divided into six worlds ("China", "Polynesia", "Mediterrània", "México", "Far West" and "Sesamoaventura"), it has more than forty attractions for young and old, about twenty restaurants, as many different shows and more than thirty souvenir shops. Right next door, thrill and car fans will not be able to miss the Ferrari Land, a park totally dedicated to the world of the famous red brand.
As for the visits, the Castell de Vila-Seca is really worth a look: with a medieval aspect, this ancient fortress stands out in the local landscape, overlooking the pine forest. Visit the Sant-Esteve church, the Celler Noucentista, the Santuri de la Mare de Déu de la Pineda, the Torre d'en Dolça or the Portal de Sant Antoni.
The other advantage of La Pineda is its coastline: put on your sneakers for a long walk along its immense beach, from Punta Prima to the marina of Espigon Puerto Tarragona. The resort's beaches are particularly popular with families thanks to their many services and sports activities, particularly on the La Pineda Beach and El Raco Beach. In terms of water activities, in addition to swimming and relaxing under the ground, surfing, paddle, towed buoys, diving, sea excursions, catamaran, wakeboarding, sea kayaking or windsurfing will satisfy thrill-seeking aficionados.

Port aventura is 10 minutes drive from Salou. The Aquopolis is not far either. Cambrils is worth a visit for its port and lively town centre.

Avoid bothering to look for a parking space in Tarragona.... take the bus: it will cost you 2 euros per way (or less if you buy the book of 10 tickets at the "plana bus" ticket office) but it will save you from going around in circles in town. He leaves you at the bus station which is very close to Rambla Nova. Restaurant idea: we had a great meal in the restaurant overlooking the Roman amphitheatre and the view is magnificent! For those who like to walk: go and see the Roman aqueduct "le pont du diable". It is very easily accessible. There is plenty of picnicking and walking and hiking trails. And it's shaded!

We went to Port Aventura: it's to be done honestly! With a 10-year-old girl but also as a couple or family! 5 years ago we went to Aquum (the spa): it was great too! Otherwise there is Aquapolis in La Pineda. We didn't go, we didn't have enough time to enjoy the sea and the pool, but it looked pretty good.
