With its 17 kilometres of superbly contrasted coastline, Ploemeur and its beaches welcome every year many holidaymakers, curious or accustomed, envious to discover the splendours of the Breton coast. Facing the magnificent island of Groix and bordering Lorient from the west, Ploemeur will reveal its riches and secrets, facing an emerald water to be damned.
Located in the north of Morbihan, Ploemeur will surprise you by the beauty of its coast, rather unknown and well preserved. A family seaside resort, it is the ideal place to enjoy the joys of the sea in complete freedom and peace, far from the crowded beaches where finding a place for your parasol turns out to be an almost fierce struggle.
It is during walks, bike or horse rides that the Ploemeuroise coast will reveal its charms to you: along this resolutely enchanting coastline, follow one another the white sandy beaches and the sumptuous intimist coves, perfect for long afternoons of idleness under the Breton sun. Along the famous GR34 which runs along the whole Breton coast, the wonderful landscapes follow each other without ever resembling each other. Green lung very appreciated by Lorientais who come to recharge their batteries there, the pond of Ter is theater of a multitude of walks. Composed of two bodies of water, the Kermelo pond and the Saint-Mathurin pond, you can walk or cycle around them during an 8-kilometre stroll along landscaped paths. Water sports enthusiasts will also be able to do Optimist (solo sailing) as well as rowing. Several hiking loops cross Ploemeur, such as the "Boucle des Kaolins" : 11 kilometres long, it will allow you to discover the Saint-Léonard chapel as well as the kaolin deposit, a white clay rock exploited for centuries for porcelain, tiles and stationery. Attesting to life in Ploemeur since the Neolithic period, numerous megalithic monuments run through the city and its surroundings. In all, more than 60 kilometres of footpaths will enable you to reach the thirty or so megalithic sites of Ploemeur, from the dolmen of Crugellic to that of Ar Roch, passing through the high menhir of Courégant (4.70 metres) and the site of Kerham overlooking the sea.
Still on the hiking side, we advise you to walk along the Atlantic Wall (fortifications of the Second World War), towards the tip of the Talud, located between the beaches of Kerroch and Pérello. Thus, along the cliffs and in front of a sea changing with the seasons, you will be certainly surprised by the beauty of the places. At the very end of the day, when the sun sets on the horizon, this place is also a well-known spot for photography lovers who come to immortalize a magical panorama, where the sky and the sea tinged with pink, orange and violet become one.
On the beach side, you will necessarily find your happiness in Ploemeur or in its hamlets. Facing southwest, Kaolins beach faces the Gulf of Ploemeur. Bordered by numerous paths, its wide expanse of white sand is adored by families who come to bathe there as soon as the first rays of the sun shine. The fine sandy beach of Kerroch (also called Port Blanc) is 100 metres long and is also a family beach. Preserved and pleasant, it is the scene of many family sand castle competitions every year. Away from the road, Pérello beach and the cove of the same name are among the most beautiful beaches in Ploemeur. Facing south, they are ideal for long afternoons of idleness. Anse du Stole beach has access for people with reduced mobility and a children's park : over 600 metres long, it is very popular with families. The beach of Courégant is surrounded by rocks : perfect for quiet breaks, it is however rather lively in high season because of the proximity of several restaurants with the seaside. The sportsmen on their side will certainly let themselves be tempted by one of the many activities dispensed at the nautical center of Kerguelen, on the beach of the same name : scuba diving, sailing, surfboarding, kayaking, paddle... There will be for all the tastes. At low tide, head towards the sandy pebble beach of Fort-Bloqué, known for its waves : behind this military building built in 1748 following an English attack, there is a surf spot recognised in the region, which attracts both summer and winter lovers of skiing broken at very... refreshing temperatures.
Finally, overlooking the sea, the golf course of Ploemeur will be perfect for sporting afternoons, where amateur and beginners golfers can perfect their swing in a beautifully preserved natural setting facing the sea and the island of Groix.

There are no shops on Guidel Plages, it is necessary to go 3 to 4 kms to Fort Bloqué and Guidel to get bread, food etc. In the evening the bars, crêperies close very early and too bad because there are no activities.
