Renowned throughout the world for its ski area, Tignes is a Savoyard town nestled in the Vanoise massif. Since the 1930s, the station has grown and modernized to become the active and cosmopolitan station it is today.
Located at 2050 meters above sea level, Tignes Lavachet is a quiet area. Very popular with families, it is close to Tignes Le Lac, the center of the resort's activities. This area is the ideal place to enjoy the many sports and entertainment of the estate away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the resort.
Tignes Lavachet is particularly well connected to the Tignes ski area, known for its size and modernity. It counts nearly 150 kilometers of tracks, among which are 20 kilometers dedicated to cross-country skiing. The quality of the slopes allowed the city to receive certain events of the Winter Olympic Games of Albertville in 1992 as well as the Paralympic Games the same year. It is a contemporary resort, welcoming innovations with open arms. It is also the landmark of the new slides, to be discovered on the snowparks of the domain. Tignes also reopens some of its slopes in the summer season for those who can not wait for winter : summer skiing takes place on 20 kilometers of pistes located between 2700 and 3400 meters above sea level.
Tignes Lavachet is sport, sport and sports ! No matter the season, the resort offers, in the immediate vicinity, an arsenal of dynamic activities that will delight the great sportsmen like the small beginners. As for winter sports, you will be spoiled for choice. If you are not afraid to take the height, let yourself be tempted by the speedriding, fusion between skiing and paragliding. Reserved for good skiers, this sport alternates gliding and flight and provides unforgettable sensations. Non-skiers will instead try ice climbing. On a cascade of ice, let yourself be tempted by this unique climb safely.
In summer, the activities abound in Tignes, each one as original as the others. And there really is something for everyone ! Immerse yourself in the clear waters of Lake Tignes to discover the fauna and flora of high mountains, walk on the water in the big water bubbles of waterball, set out to conquer the surrounding landscapes by mountain biking on a multitude of itineraries Tagged... the hardest will be to choose !
