A member of the label Cities and Countries of Art and History since 1987, the ancient Roman city of Fréjus is a renowned tourist destination, helped for this by its historical and natural heritage to no other. Of fine sand, the city is completely transformed from one district to another... change of scenery guarantees !
Fréjus has fully exploited the memories of its ancient past. If all the ruins that dot the city could not be rehabilitated for contemporary use, some of them are used today, almost two thousand years after their construction. For example, the Roman amphitheater, better known as the Arena of Fréjus, opens its doors in the summer for concerts and shows. Built in the 1st century AD, the immense monument received nearly 10,000 spectators, probably for gladiatorial fights. Similarly, the Roman Theater, built at the same time, was restored in spite of the disappearance of the bleachers. Its 900 seats now welcome the public for performances of music, dance and theater. In July, the Aurelian Nights settled there for the greatest pleasure of the theater enthusiasts. It is not uncommon to come face to face with other impressive vestiges of the Roman era, such as the Roman Aqueduct or the gate of the Gauls.
The seaside of Fréjus is also to be surveyed, as its beauty and tranquility blend perfectly with the charm of the historic district, which extends as far as Port-Fréjus. This port, created in 1989, combines with modernity and memory the ancient port, which was one of the most important from a military and commercial point of view of the Mediterranean.
For lovers of nature, the Massif de l'Estérel, once volcanic, allows to discover a verdant flora by hiking or by mountain bike. The François Léotard Nature Base is also a major tourist attraction. This natural space of several hectares is the ideal place for a peaceful walk in full vegetation. It is also a meeting place for sports and leisure, where you can enjoy the Mediterranean climate on a beautiful sandy beach.
Finally, during the summer months, the amusement parks of Luna Park (nightlife) and Aqualand (close to each other) open up to families and allow them to spend unforgettable days, alternating aquatic games and thrill rides.

The "Crêperie d'Émilie" is located on the seafront of Port Fréjus: you can eat delicious pancakes and crêpes there. The "Bamboo Bay" is located on the beach of Les Esclamandes in Saint Aygulf: you can eat simple, fast and very good food with your feet in the water: salads, burgers or ice cream (coffee or chocolate from Liège,...).

The crossing Saint Raphael Saint -Tropez by super boat at a correct price with "Les bateaux de St Raphael" much more pleasant than by road... In Saint Tropez "Le Cabanon" excellent Italian products with the advantage of eating in the garden very nice.
