On the heights of the Gulf of Antibes, just behind Cagnes-sur-Mer, Antibes and Villeneuve-Loubet, Roquefort-les-Pins is an admirable balcony overlooking the Mediterranean. Between land and sea, in the heart of the Alpes-Maritimes, this authentic village promises its visitors memorable discoveries.
A small village in Provence at the gateway to Sophia Antipolis and the beaches of the Mediterranean, Roquefort-les-Pins is above all a calm and restful destination. Far from the hustle and bustle of the seaside, this small residential town offers a green, restful environment, perfect for a break under the Mediterranean sun. Inhabited since the first men, the town is home to some ancient sites that you will have the opportunity to discover during your stay. To do so, Roquefort-les-Pins has many hiking trails, including the GR653A, which takes the "Via Aurelia" of the Way of St. James of Compostela, the path of the Apicher (7 kilometers), the d'Arbousson (7 kilometres), that of Castellas and its Roman remains (9 kilometres) or the routes of the Romanil (9 kilometres), the Loup (7 kilometres) and the Tramway known to take the ancient viaduct of the Sept-Fonts (7 kilometres). These are all signposted itineraries for pedestrians and/or cyclists, which will allow you to discover the wooded relief of the middle Grasse region. And it looks like nothing, here, it climbs! Formed by the Valbonne plateau to the north and the Gorges du Loup, the territory of Roquefort-les-Pins is studded with a myriad of cavities and numerous caves that are a delight for caving enthusiasts. Thus, you will certainly be able to cross on your way the Chèvre d'Or cave, the Beaume Granet cave, the Lauron cave, the Alziary avenue, the Tramway cave or the Otters cave in the south of the village. It is also impossible to miss a visit to the ruins of the Château de Roquefort: perched at the top of a hill in the locality of Castellas, it dominates the neighbouring plains and offers superb hilly panoramas of the Roquefortoise forest, which is also full of hiking trails.
After a short round of golf at the Golf de la Grande Bastide, a sporty hike at the Cascade du Saut du Loup, towards the beaches of the coast. Easily accessible, the beaches of Cagnes-sur-Mer are only a dozen kilometres from the heart of Roquefort-les-Pins, so you can reach them on foot, by bike or by car in no time at all. With just over 3.5 kilometres of beaches, Cagnes-sur-Mer is a bit of a paradise for holidays under the sun. The combination of fine sand, restaurants with their feet in the water, turquoise and soft sea to swim in, make you want to come and stay on the French Riviera again and again. In addition to lazing around and sandcastle competitions, thrill-seekers will be able to enjoy themselves at leisure thanks to a wide range of activities to suit all tastes. What's on the agenda? Water skiing, pedal boats, sailing, wake-boarding, jet skiing, parasailing, paddle, funboat, kitesurfing, canoeing, flyfish, scuba diving... Something to delight young and old alike!
