At 26 kilometres from Narbonne, 29 from Carcassonne and less than an hour from the Mediterranean beaches, this village is ideally situated to discover all the most beautiful destinations in the region.

Between plains dotted with vineyards and moors covered with pine, rosemary and laurel, Montbrun-des-Corbières has everything of the perfect authentic little village in the south of France, villages that you sometimes see sketched out in the curves of paintings by impressionist artists. Land of wine and ochre-coloured stones, Montbrun-des-Corbières is a real little paradise of tranquillity, which will delight lovers of the great outdoors and "green" outings. On the borders of the Minervois, not far from the Alaric mountain, this village on the last foothills of the Corbières is a real paradise for hikers who will find many walking routes through its abundant vegetation and along its streams, from the Rocher du Renard to the Col de la Portenelle or the Combe des Loups. The Aude, which flows north of the commune, is also particularly suitable for walking or cycling, which is very pleasant in the cool summer months.

In the heart of the village, the church of Saint-Roch is worth a visit, for the originality of its architecture, the beauty of its decorations and its bells, as is the chapel of Notre-Dame de Colombiers. During your walks, you will not be able to miss the old ramparts that once protected the town: well maintained, they are pierced with gates in the image of the Porte Saint-Pierre, the emblematic medieval arch of the town.

Carcassonne is also worth the detour: a renowned Gallo-Roman city, renowned for its famous ramparts, it amazes many travellers every year thanks to its city listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its castle, its legends, its ramparts, its towers, its gates and its machicolation give it an authentic charm, which history buffs and the curious love.

Fancy a swim? Head for Gruissan or the seaside resort of Leucate, both located about 50 minutes from Montbrun-des-Corbières.
