The village of Sagone is 25 kilometres north of Ajaccio and 14 kilometres from the magnificent Cargese. Here, three colours dominate the landscape: the sparkling blue of the sky which merges with that of the sea, the green of the vegetation which draws the contours of the town in abundance, and the white of the sand which stretches for miles and miles along the coast. Here, the hinterland is full of typical villages, stocky mountains, lakes and rivers that you can easily discover from the hiking trails that start from Sagone. In the direction of the meandering Liamone River, which flows into the Mediterranean Sea in the Gulf of Sagone, the Calanques de la Piana 35 kilometres to the north, the mountains around the Convent of Saint Francis the Oblate Fathers (14 kilometres away), the forest of Aïtoe (35 kilometres to the north) or Lake Creno (34 kilometres away), there are many dreamy panoramas that you will have the chance to contemplate.

A paradise of nature, perfect for hiking, horseback riding (on horseback or donkey!) or cycling, Sagone is also a true concentrate of history, as evidenced on its territory by the presence of menhirs and Roman ruins that you will be able to discover. To see on the heritage side? The churches, sometimes Romanesque and sometimes Gothic, which have flourished over the centuries, but also the ruins of the Cathedral of Sant' Appiano, the Convent of Saint Francis of Vico, the Tower of Capigliolu, the Bridge of Carbonaja and Belfiore, or the Tower of Sagone. The latter, a large Genoese tower in ruins, has watched over the coastline for centuries and offers walkers who come to discover it incredible panoramas of the Bay of Sagone.

This bay is Sagone's major asset. With its turquoise water worthy of the most beautiful postcards, its clear sand and its mountains as a backdrop, this marvellous bay has something to drive everyone crazy about Corsica. Here you can swim, sunbathe, sunbathe, picnic on the sand at sunset, and enjoy a few sessions of sailing, surfing, paddling, bodyboarding, scuba diving, windsurfing, kitesurfing, canoeing, kayaking, or even boat trips to discover the splendours of the south coast of Corsica.
