Just a few kilometres north of the meandering Dordogne, Sainte-Nathalène has many invitations to come and discover its most beautiful faces. Known for its pleasant living environment, the small town of Sainte-Nathalène is the ideal place to put your suitcases down and set off to discover the rich heritage of the Périgord. In the Énéa valley, part of which is classified as a Natura 2000 area, the limestone hillsides of Sainte-Nathalène are a delight for lovers of nature and wide open spaces. There are also many hiking trails that you will find there: through its wooded valleys, its agricultural plains and its sometimes somewhat sporty itineraries, you will be able to discover all the splendour of this little corner of France. On foot, or by bike, don't miss a visit to the Gardens of Eyrignac (6 kilometres north of the town): considered one of the most beautiful jewels of the Black Perigord, this large French-style park of 10 hectares is a true sanctuary for those who love greenery.

The heart of the village is also worth a visit: a town with many assets, it has a large historical heritage that we strongly recommend you to discover as you stroll. The 15th-century church of Sainte-Nathalène with its bell tower-wall is worth seeing, as are the 16th-century Château de Latour, the Moulin de la Tour and the Manoir de Massaud, built in the 16th century. The mill is a must for your family stays: still in operation, it offers visits to help you discover all the secrets of the production of hazelnut, almond and walnut oils from the Périgord.

But what requires all the attention of holidaymakers passing through Sainte-Nathalène are the caves. Yes, the caves of the Dordogne and the surrounding departments are among the oldest, most beautiful and most prized in the whole of France. A 25-minute drive away, the Lascaux cave is worth seeing: a masterpiece of cave art, it is THE star cave of the country, renowned for its magnificent and very old cave paintings. The Tourtoirac cave, the breathtaking abyss of Padirac, that of Proumeyssac, the Carbonnières cave at Lacave, those of Lacave, Grand Roc, Maxange, Presque, the Bara-Bahau cave, that of Pech Blanc and the Trou de l'Arc are added to the list of visits to be made while passing through Sainte-Nathalène to perfect your knowledge in this area. Finally, it is impossible not to mention Sarlat-la-Canéda: a magnificent medieval village, the capital of the Périgord Noir is teeming with listed historical monuments and good little restaurants where you can discover the delights of Périgord gastronomy. Black truffle, ceps, walnuts, duck or lamb dishes, cabécou, foie gras, strawberries and other local wines will satisfy all taste buds.
