27 kilometers south of Valence, Cliousclat is located in the Drôme department, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Not far from Mirmande and Montélimar, between cultures and orchards, this commune perched between 125 and 473 meters of altitude is known since the XVIIth century for its potters who make the reputation of the city. Rich in clay, the soil of Cliousclat is at the origin of the development of this craft, very appreciated in the village but also by visitors who come from all over the world to discover the art of pottery "made in Cliousclat".

Picturesque and authentic, Cliousclat deserves that you take the time to stroll along its narrow streets studded with old houses with splendid stone facades, witnesses of the development of the village over the centuries. Rich of a very old history, the village still counts today some beautiful vestiges of its old medieval ramparts which formerly enclosed its historical heart, and in particular a quadrangular tower-gate which you will be able to observe during your walks. From vaulted passages to narrow streets, you will discover small hidden gardens, and many streets covered with arches, built or not, which give a very particular charm to the village. Also, you will not be able to miss the numerous pottery workshops, because even today, Cliousclat counts many talented artists within its walls. To know all the secrets, note that in summer, you will have the opportunity to visit the museum Histoire de Poteries, which will teach you a little more about the history of the village and its century-old traditions. In addition, in early June, the village organizes a large Potters' Market that brings together artists from the region, and you will also have the opportunity to buy beautiful pottery at the Farmers' Market, held every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month between June and October.

Cliousclat is located in an environment that is ideal for outdoor activities and offers hikers and mountain bikers a variety of routes to discover through the countryside. Along the neighboring Rhone, or the Drôme, towards the Lake of Grane perfect for fishing with friends, towards the Bridge of Stars, the Accrobranche of La Forêt de Robin, Privas, Valence, Marsanne or Montélimar, there is a lot to do in this pretty corner of the hexagon!
