A former fishing port converted into a peaceful holiday paradise, Landéda is one of those pearls which adorn the Breton coast and which, for years now, have made it a privileged place for those seeking calm and wonder.

In the region of Brittany, and more particularly in the heart of the department of Finistère, there is a treasure, a jewel housed in a green and blue tinted case... Landéda. Ah, Landéda: those who know it know how unique this Breton town is. A coastal town on the English Channel, located on the Côte des Légendes, Landéda is known for its unique location. A peninsula wedged between the Aber-Benoît to the north and the Aber-Wrac'h to the south, it reveals to its visitors a town installed on its peninsula, and a whole host of small islands off the coast, such as the Guénioc Island, 2 kilometres from the coast, the Garo Island off the Aber-Benoît, the Roch-Avel Island, the Tariec Island, the Cézon Island or the Stagadon Island at the entrance to the Aber-Wrac'h. Labelled as a Tourist Resort and Port of Heritage Interest, between the Iroise Sea and the English Channel, Landéda's origins date back to ancient times: populated since the Neolithic period, of which it has preserved numerous remains, the history of the commune of Landéda is intimately linked to that of the sea. Vauban's fortifications and the Atlantic Wall, the fishponds, the marina and the beaching harbour, here, the maritime works set the tone for the visit. Crosses, old stones, ovens, wash houses, fountains, chapels and manor houses are the emblems of the local heritage and will plunge you into the heart of the traditions of Brittany. What to see? The semaphore, which today houses numerous exhibitions and is worth a visit for its breathtaking panorama of the Abers, but also the Abbey of Notre-Dame-des-Anges, a fabulous witness to 16th century Breton art and culture: overlooking a beach, with its gardens, wood and spring, this place, as if surrounded by magic, will transport you to the heart of local traditions. Discover also the dolmens of the Guénioc island, the Vauban fortifications of the Cézon island... and the beaches! Landéda unveils to nature and fresh air lovers more than 15 kilometres of coastline, ideal for activities such as sailing, surfing, hiking or mountain biking, but also for swimming. The beach of Les Anges will delight sailing enthusiasts, while the beaches of Saite-Marguerite, Brouennou or Ker ar Guevel will be ideal for sunbathing and swimming in turquoise water.

A land of contrasts, Aber-Wrac'h is a veritable Eden for hikers: the Bay of Angels, the Devil's Bridge, and the islets that make up the area give it a very special character. Winding its way through islets, wooded banks and fields, its neighbour Aber-Benoît is known for its oysters, which you can taste to your heart's content! On foot or by bike, by sail or by boat, you will discover the unique beauty of the Côte des Légendes, also called the Côte des Abers, which has the largest number of lighthouses in Europe. From the Pontusval lighthouse, topped with black, to the Four lighthouse and the legendary Île Vierge lighthouse, which offers a breathtaking view from its 84-metre high granite tower (and its 392 steps to climb!), it is impossible not to fall under the spell of the coast!
