Do you need a change of scenery? A green break, far (yes, very far) from the tourists, from the daily life and from the worries of the subway-work-sleep? Go to the small village of Feliceto, in the heart of the department of Haute-Corse.

Nugget located in the heart of Corsica, in the Sant'Andréa area, in Balagne, Feliceto is one of those authentic destinations as only the Isle of Beauty has the secret. About fifteen kilometers from the wonderful beaches of Ile Rousse, Feliceto is close enough to the coast to enjoy its pleasures, but also far enough away not to suffer the crowds in summer. Perched between 105 and 1680 meters of altitude, this village balcony whose village blossoms at 300 meters of height at the limit of the Regional Natural Park of Corsica is flanked in the south by a large chain of mountains, the massif of Monte Grosso, and is surrounded by a whole bunch of peaks such as the Capu alla Forcella (1185 meters high), the Monte al Prato (924 meters), but also the Cima Caselle (1622 meters) or the San Parteo, which dominates the whole village and the neighboring valleys from its 1680 meters high. Also, to discover the village in a playful and quiet way, follow the course of the Regino river which has its source in the municipality at 1350 meters above sea level, and which crosses Feliceto, waters its eponymous plain and feeds the lake of Codole.

Mainly mountainous, the village of Feliceto reveals a beautiful architectural heritage, emblematic of the region. What to see? The Church of St. Nicholas, a splendid baroque building at the foot of the mountains, known for its baptistery in Carrara marble, but also for the beauty of its ogres and its decorations. The Chapel of Saint Roch, the Confraternity Chapel in the church square, and the remains of the Chapel of Saint Andrea complete the inventory of religious buildings. On the civil side, you can discover three old grain mills, one on the Regino side and the other two on the Piano stream, as well as two oil mills at the exit of the village. Fountain, wash house, Genoese bridge on the Regino and on the side of the place called Laretu will complete this visit. But if there is one visit that we recommend, it is the one of the "Maison du bandit" : located on the Falcunaghja (the falcon's refuge, in Corsican) at 600 meters of altitude, this house offers a breathtaking view on the Balagne and the Mediterranean Sea ! Finally, don't miss to visit the glass factory of Feliceto: famous for the color of its glasses, it is an essential step of your trip! And to finish, here are some ideas of visits to make and things to see during this stay in Corsica: a little stroll on the side of the E Cotule water plan, a sunny game of golf at the Golf du Reginu, the ascent of the San Parteo summit, the discovery of the Dirza spring, hikes along the seaside in Ile-Rousse, gourmet breaks in its restaurants, swimming sessions and water activities on its beaches... In short, enough to make the whole family want to come back next year!
