Wedged between Saint-Florent and its eponymous gulf on one side, and the beaches of the bay of Bastia on the other, Oletta sees its origins going back far, far back in time, to prehistory, as evidenced by the presence of a cave on its territory, that of Missoivet, and the very ancient remains on the side of Campo-Console. Authentic, made of old houses with stone facades that overlook the Gulf of Saint-Florent, Oletta has a marked and rather opulent heritage, the result of many years of mining. To discover all its secrets, take the time to stroll along its beautiful stones. The church of Saint Andrew (Sant'Andria), a listed building, is well worth a visit: built in the 18th century, it impresses with its splendid baroque architecture and beautiful decorations (including two listed works and magnificent organs). But the town's religious heritage does not stop there: in the area around Oletta there are many chapels that you can visit, such as the San Griolone Chapel, famous for its ancient remains. The ruins of the former convent of St. Francis, but also the remains of the old church, now converted into a dwelling, will complete your visit.
