Perched at an altitude of 464 metres at the foot of the wonderful Lake Annecy, Saint-Jorioz enjoys an extremely privileged geographical location in the heart of the mountains. Its walking trails, beach, water sports and unspoilt natural surroundings make it a choice destination for a 100% natural stay, with family or friends.
Nestled in the hollow of the Haute-Savoie mountains, Saint-Jorioz is located on the left bank of the famous Lake Annecy. Facing the summit of the Bornes massif that is La Tournette as well as the Dents de Lanfon, this small natural village attracts every year a good number of holidaymakers, adepts of outdoor activities. For some very beautiful walks, we advise you to take the municipality's health trail, starting from the Route du Laudon, but also the "Sentier des Roselières" which is one of the must-see attractions of your visit, as is the "Marais de l'Enfer", one of the 5 sites of the Lake Annecy cluse to be classified as a Natura 2000 site. The "Boucle du Laudon" runs alongside the river of the same name to finally reach Saint-Eustache, with wonderful views of the lake, to be observed day and night when the stars, moon and lights of the city light up the surroundings with a soft light. If you prefer cycling, rollerblading or jogging to hiking, you can enjoy the magnificent cycle path overlooking Lake Annecy: located on the old line of the railway from Annecy to Albertville, this greenway will bring you to all the most important points of Saint-Jorioz, from its port to its fine sandy beach.
Located by the lake, the Saint-Jorioz nautical base will allow young and old alike to learn about a wide range of nautical activities, from sailing to optimist, including windsurfing, catamarans, rowing, kite-surfing, paddle and surfing. If you prefer swimming and relaxing breaks to water sports, Saint-Jorioz is the only white sandy beach on Lake Annecy, making it a popular beach for both Saint-Joriens and visitors. Lake Annecy and the surrounding municipalities are renowned for their wide range of sporting activities: also, in addition to the water sports on the lake, you can enjoy the Annecy ice rink, canyoning, rafting, hydrospeed, paragliding, climbing, bungee jumping, diving, via ferrata, ULM, hot air ballooning, but also Nordic walking, snowshoeing when the season lends itself to it, snowmobiling, bobsleighing, skiing as well as snowboarding on the side of the Col de La Forclaz, de Talloires and de Fillière. If however, sensational activities are not your cup of tea, then you can still play mini-golf, petanque, "Big Jump", enjoy the ramps of the skate-park, go to the historic centre of Annecy located 9 kilometres away, archery, eating cold meats and cheese from Savoie, tai chi chi, trail, yoga, tennis or squash... In short, you will have understood that there is no shortage of activities in Saint-Jorioz!
