Cultural and historical, the village of Montblanc has many secrets to reveal to you. A paradise of tranquillity adored by fans of old stones, the village, just a few minutes from the Mediterranean, is the perfect place to visit the Hérault while avoiding the crowds of big tourist destinations.

Montblanc is above all a colossal historical heritage. Marked by history, the town has many very old monuments, which tell, stone after stone, the history of the village. To begin with, the church of Sainte-Eulalie is worth seeing: imposing and recognizable by its wide square tower, it would, according to books, see its origins dating back to the beginning of the 12th century. Fortified apse, Romanesque in appearance, decorated with machicolations and towers, it has more the contours of a large fortress rather than the traditional appearance of the religious sites of the region. With its bell tower perched 34 metres high, it impresses as much as it fascinates visitors who are lucky enough to push its door. Its vaults, warheads, four bells, gargoyle, stained glass windows and the views it offers from its corbelled turret make this church a must see during your stay in Montblanc. Once out of the church, you will discover the village's common oven, the consular house with its magnificent stones, the old fountain that continues to water the village to this day, and the tower of the castle. This former square tower belongs to a feudal castle that occupied the heart of the village in the Middle Ages, and is the only remaining vestige of it today, the only witness that has withstood the torments of history. With its two machicolations, its defensive aspect and its old stones, this castle gave its name to the district, the "Quartier château vieux", which dominates the whole medieval village. Finally, on the other side of the church, it is a Renaissance castle that you can discover; connected to the presbytery by a vaulted passage, this building, private property, cannot be visited but can be admired from the street. The story goes that none other than François I, but also Saint-Sernin de Toulouse and the sister of Charles V lived in the building, which was then the property of Marguerite de Navarre.

Montblanc is also an ideal location to discover some of the treasures of the Hérault, and to take advantage of its most beautiful assets. During their stay, fans of the greens will be able to enjoy the splendid courses of the Saint-Thomas golf course, while nature lovers will enjoy the gentle way of life and the calm of the Jardin de Saint-Adrien, renowned for its pleasant lake and pretty pink palm trees. With the family, the "Béziers Aventure" will delight young and old alike, provided they like sensations and adrenaline: paintball sessions, treetop courses and canyoning will be on the programme if you choose to visit it. As for the little ones, they won't miss the "Park de Sam-Land", a huge leisure park for adults and children from 1 to 12 years old, which offers its visitors acrobatic courses, playgrounds and slides for all desires.

Finally, as Montblanc is only fifteen minutes from the Mediterranean, you can enjoy the sunny beaches of the seaside resorts of Vias, Cap d'Agde, Portiragnes or Sérignan-Plage, perfect for sunbathing and water sports. In detail, you can go scuba diving, surfing, sailing, jet-skiing, but also kitesurfing, sea kayaking, boating, paddling, palm walking and many other activities in the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean.
