In the heart of the Pays d'Allevard, Allevard-les-Bains is watered by the Bréda stream, which flows through its valleys from the plateau of the Lacs des 7 Laux. Spread out between 1450 and 2100 metres above sea level, the resort of Collet d'Allevard has 23 downhill ski slopes. A family destination, it reveals a ski area suitable for beginners and experienced skiers alike: its night area is one of the largest in Europe, with its 8 beautifully lit downhill slopes. If there is one queen activity in the resort, it is certainly snowshoeing: very popular with families and seniors, it is ideal to discover all the beauty of Allevard's landscapes, through its mountains, forests and snow-covered valleys. At Collet d'Allevard, there are 5 signposted and secure routes that will certainly seduce holidaymakers who love immaculate landscapes. La Ferrière has 6 routes, the Col du Barioz also, when 3 routes criss-cross the Pleynet les 7 Laux area. Nordic skiing (52 kilometres of pistes in the Barioz area), snowboarding, speed riding, tobogganing, dog sledding or canoeing are also among the most popular activities during the winter.
Finally, in summer, the activities available to visitors abound in the surroundings of the municipality of Allevard: paragliding, fishing and swimming at Lake Mirande, horse riding, mountain biking, white water sports on the Bréda, climbing on the Biassus rock, but also hiking thanks to more than 300 kilometres of paths (including the Allevard 2000 trail) along which you will certainly cross the road of ibex and chamois who live in the hollow of the valleys that surround the municipality.
