Nestling between Biscarosse in the north and Mimizan in the south, Sainte-Eulalie-en-Born is a real little paradise of nature. Perfect for family holidays as well as sports holidays, this preserved destination will suit all your desires.
From the shores of Lake Biscarosse to the shores of Lake Aureilhan, via the Atlantic beaches along its coastline, Sainte-Eulalie-en-Born is, it can be said, surrounded by water. Right in the heart of the Landes, in the New Aquitaine region, the commune spreads over more than 70 square kilometres. Situated in the Landes de Gascogne forest, planted with very fragrant maritime pines, this land of escape is a true concentrate of nature. Hikers will have a great time here thanks to a vast network of walking, horse-riding and cycling routes. A stage on the Pilgrim's Way to Santiago de Compostela, the town is well known to walkers, many of whom stop here throughout the year. Through the forest, in the direction of the tuc du Castet, along the river that runs through the village for more than 8 kilometres, linking the lakes of Aureilhan and Biscarosse, but also by venturing out into the marshes with their abundant fauna (herons, coypu, ducks, frogs, birds...), you will be offered the full magnificence of the local flora and fauna. Most of these trails will also lead you, tirelessly, towards the Atlantic coast, to allow you to enjoy magnificent walks in the coolness of the water. Bicycle enthusiasts will also find a wide cycle path linking the village of Sainte-Eulalie-en-Born to the famous beach of the Lake of Biscarosse, but also to the ocean beaches and other lakes in the area. This lake, easily accessible, is also a real paradise for all water sports aficionados. From the sand of its lakeside beach, you can swim (supervised swimming in summer), but also windsurf, water ski, boat trips, sailing, and many other activities such as paddle, canoeing, beach volleyball and fishing. For the practice of surfing, it is on the side of the ocean beaches that you will have to go. Very easily accessible to pedestrians and cyclists, these beaches located in the communes of Sainte-Eulalie-en-Born, Mimizan or Biscarosse, are widely appreciated by sports enthusiasts who will find a whole arsenal of activities available all year round, for all levels of practice.
Finally, in addition to its natural surroundings, Sainte-Eulalie-en-Born is a village with a charming village centre, which we can only recommend you to visit. In the heart of the village, you will discover old Landes houses with wooden frames, easily identifiable thanks to their colourful half-timbering, emblematic of the region. The 13th century church built by the Knights of the Order of Malta, but also the 19th century wash house, the 17th century Probert manor house, the charming lanes, the marina and the paths along the Sainte-Eulalie stream will complete your visit of this pretty corner of the Landes.
