On the borders of Finistère and Morbihan, Guidel-Plages unfolds its charms, oh so many to those who know how to appreciate the singular beauty of the Breton coast. Located between the sea and the river next to the Laïta estuary, this seaside resort is a delight for lovers of water sports, relaxation and excursions along its magnificent coastal paths.
In the southwest of Morbihan, Guidel-Plages is a land of escape, history and culture prized by holidaymakers. Very famous among history buffs and lovers of beautiful stones, the town of Guidel (a few kilometres further north of the seaside resort) is worth a visit: the Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul church, but also its 7 chapels, wells, fountains and calvaries have contributed greatly to its development over the centuries.
But Guidel-Plages' main asset is above all its superb seafront: with 5 kilometres of white beaches watered by a turquoise sea and its many marked paths, the Guilé coastline is definitely worth a visit. During your excursions to the seaside, you will not be able to miss the impressive Loc'h fort: built not far from the coastal paths along the Laïta, this fort built in 1756 to protect Lorient from English invasions is now classified as a Historical Monument. You can visit it, as it hosts art exhibitions every summer. With 110 kilometres of trails and hiking trails and 45 kilometres of cycle paths, Guidel offers you many opportunities for family excursions. Six large loops are absolutely essential: "Between Loc'h and Laïta", "Around Loc'h", "Around the Etang de Lannénec", "From Guidel centre to Laïta", "From Guiden centre to the sea" and the loop "Le tro Kreiz Ker" will allow you to discover some of the most beautiful panoramas of the town. The Guided riverbank of the Laïta invites you to take a peaceful stroll to discover the local splendours: stretching over nearly 11.5 kilometres through Guidel-Plages, it is bordered by a pleasant path linking the Saint-Maurice bridge to the marina where you can walk or pedal, as you wish. Be careful and if you can, bring binoculars to observe the beautiful ornithological reserve of this winding estuary: you may be able to cross paths with an ashy heron, cormorants, and many migratory birds that come to land and fish by the river. The Pouldu valley is also to be seen, as is the Loch de Guidel, listed as a Natural Area of Ecological Interest. The GR34 coastal path, known by the mythical name of "Sentier des douaniers", is certainly the most beautiful itinerary you can find in Guidel-Plages: along the cut-out coast, it will allow you to discover the most beautiful panoramas that the seaside resort has to offer you on the open sea, the beaches and the small secret coves that compose the Guidel coast.
On the beach side, whether you are idleness or rather nautical activities, you will necessarily find your happiness on the fine sand of Guidel-Plages. Located at the mouth of the Laïta river, the "Bas Pouldu beach" is very popular with families who come to swim and enjoy its playground for the youngest. In its extension, the "Falaise beach" is rather frequented by sports enthusiasts since it is renowned for its excellent surf and kite-surfing spot. On the other hand, swimming is not recommended because of its sometimes violent currents. The "plage du Loch" is also an excellent surfing spot, while the "Crique des amoureux" is suitable for those who wish to escape the crowd and isolate themselves in a small peaceful area. The "Penn er Malo beach" is Guidel's most popular beach: almost 2 kilometres long, it offers a wide range of activities for young and old alike, as well as the "Fort Bloqué beach" which is above all appreciated for its water sports centre. You will be able to go sea kayaking, sailing, paddle to Fort-Bloqué and Ploemeur, canoeing, dinghy, catamaran, diving, sea hiking... There will be plenty to do for the whole family!

In case of west wind : Perello beaches between Kerroch and Lomener. Sentier de la Laita, between the port of Guidel Plages and the Saint-Maurice bridge (and up to the Saint-Maurice crêperie, but remember to book well in advance).
