Ah, Brittany... Is it in France a territory more conducive to daydreaming and escape? Amazing, this splendid region has wonderful landscapes, sometimes as if they had come from elsewhere, so much so much their paradisiacal beauty leaves one wondering. This is the case of Locmaria and its turquoise water beaches, which we strongly recommend for a summer stay.

What could be better than an island for a quiet holiday? Located southeast of Belle-Île en Mer, in the Morbihan department, Locmaria is a tourist city well known to lovers of wide open spaces and the ocean. A small paradise for lovers of water sports, Locmaria attracts the best sliding enthusiasts every year, who gather on its fine sandy beaches. The "Grands Sables" beach is the most popular and longest of all the beaches on the island. From its 2 kilometres of white and red sand (due to garnet powder), families and friends come to sunbathe (the beach is very well exposed) and soak up the sun to refresh themselves during the summer heat. From the beach's nautical base, you can opt for an introduction to windsurfing, catamarans, dinghies, outboards, trimarans, paddles, surfing or even kayaking. Sailors at heart will also be able to rent motor boats to discover the jewels of the Bellilois coast! Other beaches and coves are worth a visit, such as the very secret cove of Porh Huelen, the idyllic beach of Les Galères or the rocky and magnificent Victoria Creek.

In addition to the sea, Locmaria from north to south will offer you a huge open-air playground for those who enjoy hiking. Whether hiking, horseback riding or cycling, hiking is the best way to discover the natural and architectural splendours of Locmaria and Belle-Île-en-Mer. Point Saint-Marc, its legend (it is said that a dragon lived in a cave at the foot of its cliff) and its dazzling panoramas, but also the point of Pouldon, the point of Skeul and the point of Kerdonis to the north of the bay of Port Andro are unmissable spots for lovers of the great outdoors and magnificent landscapes. To perfect your discovery, do not miss the village of Locmaria: made of low houses painted white, it has some interesting sites such as its port and its church Notre-Dame de l'Assomption.

Finally, how can you stay in Brittany without tasting the delights of its cuisine? Andouillette pancakes, caramel and salted butter pancakes, but also cotriade de Belle-Île (a bouillabaisse "made in BZH"), freshly caught shellfish, lobster cream, Breton cake and many other delicacies will delight your taste buds!
