In search of a warm resort imprint of Savoyard charm ? Champagny-en-Vanoise is the ideal destination for you ! Located in the heart of the Vanoise National Park, this small mountain paradise is both a small authentic village and a modern ski resort. The village is divided into two sites : below, the village where are grouped shops and typical houses and higher, the Vallon of Champagny le Haut where is a northern site allowing to practice many activities, from sledding to cross-country skiing.
The ski slopes of Champagny-en-Vanoise are part of the ski area of La Plagne, famous for its 225 kilometers of slopes and its exceptional snowfall. Champagny is a family resort on a human scale, ideal for those who are fleeing the hustle and bustle of big resorts. In addition to skiing, there are many winter activities. In Champagny-le-Haut, go hiking, with or without guide, through the Vanoise National Park to discover the fauna and flora of this splendid valley. If you have a soul of adventurer, you will probably try the experience of the Tower of Ice. Perfectly integrated in the Savoyard landscape, this metallic structure covered with ice allows a climbing practice absolutely unique in Europe. Several paths with various difficulties are accessible to the beginners as to the initiates. In the vicinity of the site, some natural paths can also be climbed by the most difficulty, if weather conditions permit.
Once back in the village, there is no shortage of fun ! Visit the Espace Glacialis. This interpretive center takes you to the discovery of mountain glaciers through various audiovisual and playful tools. Contemplate these geological marvels from every angle : from a scientific point of view or from an artistic point of view, these ice giants no longer have the same image.
Lovers of good food, you will not miss the Savoyard gastronomy, famous all over the world for its dishes as tasty as hearty. At the foot of a waterfall in the Vanoise, the Refuge du Laisonnay is a small restaurant set in an old chalet with rare charm. In a warm atmosphere, discover the flavors of the mountain through dishes made entirely with local products that will delight especially the cheese lovers. In summer, sit out on the terrace to enjoy a breathtaking view of the mountain scenery. In winter, come and warm up in the small room with traditional decor.

There is a very good bakery/pastry shop with good breads and cakes. We appreciated the visit of a fruit and vegetable producer who allowed us to enjoy good products at a reasonable price because the Sherpa is a little expensive but very good.
