Surrounded by wooded hills, Moissac-Bellevue is a small paradise of authenticity, perched at the top of its promontory which offers its lucky visitors crazy panoramas on the landscapes of Provence, from the Sainte Baume to the Massif des Maures through the Esterel. Typical of the perched villages of the region, Moissac-Bellevue definitely lives up to its name, with its magnificent sloping streets, adorned with warm-toned houses adorned with porches, ochre-coloured streets topped with vaulted passageways that give it an intimate and so charming side. Walking along these old streets almost gives the impression of walking in an old postcard of Provence! As for the buildings, the list of unmissable sights is long, so don't waste a second, and head off across the town to discover its most beautiful treasures! What to see? At the bottom of the village, the Château de Moissac dating from the late sixteenth century, now privately owned, is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful buildings in Moissac-Bellevue. The parish church of the transfiguration and its octagonal bell tower, the chapel Notre-Dame-de-la-Roque in the middle of nature, the old presbytery, but also a whole host of oratories and crosses, wells, washhouses and fountains dot the streets of the town. The Clock Tower dating from 1816 and its wrought iron campanile, the gate, the fortified houses, the flowered alleys, the old dovecote and the ruins of a Provencal windmill will complete the decor of your stay.
The most beautiful setting of Moissac-Bellevue is its nature. In the middle of vast forests of green oaks and fragrant pines, the village is the starting point of numerous hikes leading through the Verdon Park, to Montmeyan, Aups, or to the magnificent Lake of Sainte-Croix. In the heart of a preserved environment, the largest of the Verdon lakes is a real little paradise for lovers of hiking, but also (and especially!) of water sports. On the agenda?
