Xonrupt-Longemer is the perfect resort for green tourism and is the pride of the Vosges in the heart of the Grand Est region. Adjacent to Gérardmer and not far from Saint-Dié-des-Vosges, this village perched in the heart of the Vologne valley, in the magnificent Parc Naturel Régional des Ballons des Vosges, is a delight for lovers of skiing in winter but also wide open spaces and swimming in fine weather.

With its diverse nature, lakes and rivers, Xonrupt-Longemer is a warm and authentic family destination. Labelled "Village Étoile" and classified as a "remarkable natural site", the commune offers its winter visitors an ideal ski area (Domaine du Poli) for families with its two green runs and two blue runs (downhill skiing), as well as two beautiful cross-country ski runs (one blue of 4 kilometres and one red of 11 kilometres) linked to the Nordic areas of Bresse and Gérardmer. Overlooking the surrounding mountains and the village of Xonrupt, these trails through forests and snow-covered alpine pastures will offer you wonderful panoramas of white dressed. Snowshoe enthusiasts and those who enjoy wide open spaces will be able to enjoy several Nordic hiking trails through the forest, valleys and lakes surrounding Xonrupt.

Crossed by the Vologne, the lake of Longemer is a real pearl in the heart of the mountains of the commune : classified Nature 2000, it is the wildest of the lakes which border Xonrupt. You will be able to fish in the transparent and fishy waters of this lake perched at more than 700 meters of altitude, to make there pedal boat, windsurfing, but also to bathe you there (although the bathing is not supervised) and to benefit from the shade of its immense fir trees to rest you in a splendid framework. If you like hiking, you should know that a signposted itinerary goes all around the lake for more than 5 kilometres, so that you can enjoy all the panoramas. Nicknamed the "mirror of a thousand reflections", it deserves to be seen in the early morning when the light makes it look almost magical. We advise you to climb up to the Vieux Chevaux rock to immortalize its postcard landscape ! Lake Retournemer is nestled in a glacial cirque at the foot of the Hohneck summit. Smaller of the three lakes of the Valley of the Lakes, it is private and you will not be able to bathe there, however the walk around this last is authorized, and even advised because its panoramas deserve the detour. During your excursions through Xonrupt-Longemer and its region, you will cross the path of many waterfalls, like the waterfalls of Retournemer and Charlemagne located on the very commune of Xonrupt. There are many sites to visit when you pass through this pretty mountain village, such as La Roche du Diable, the Pont des Fées, the Chapelle Saint Vincent, the delta of the Ruisseau Saint Jacques or the Haut-Chitelet high garden, a splendid botanical garden perched between 1210 and 1228 metres high not far from the Col de la Schlucht. This pass is also the ideal place to hike at sunrise to enjoy magnificent views. The Grand Ballon, the highest peak of the Vosges perched at an altitude of 1424 metres, is also not to be missed : situated on the famous Route des Crêtes, it dominates the pastures and the high altitude lakes and offers sumptuous views over the whole of the Parc Naturel Régional des Ballons des Vosges.

Finally, just a few minutes away is Lake Gerardmer, where water sports enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice when it comes to their favourite activities. Swimming, windsurfing, scuba diving, rowing, canoeing, kayaking, white water sports... Something to delight young and old alike !
