The village of Ruoms is located in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region and has everything to please lovers of outdoor activities. It is bordered on its western flank by the winding meanders of the Ardèche.

At the confluence of the Beaume, Chassezac and Ardèche rivers, the small medieval village of Ruoms is situated to the north of the commune of Vallon-Pont d'Arc and its famous Chauvet Cave. Land of escape and nature above all, Ruoms is a perpetual invitation to wonder and discovery. So, to start your stay, we can only recommend you to visit the heart of its village. Filled with charm and authenticity, the old village of Ruoms is surrounded by ramparts inside which are small, shady, flowery, stone streets that invite you to stroll. And how not to be crazy about this pretty village? Its lively shopping street is full of restaurants, terraces, bars, cafés and ice-cream parlours, to the delight of all gourmets, young and old. After taking a tour of the art glass factory and visiting the local cellars (or the Vinimage museum) which offer tastings of Ardèche wines, take the time to discover the church of Saint-Pierre-aux-Liens, the chapels of Notre-Dame-du-Rhône and Notre-Dame-des-Pommiers, not forgetting the Renaissance Château de Chaussy which you can admire on leaving the village.

A must in Ruoms? Its famous "Route Touristique des Défilés de Ruoms"; dug into the rock, on the mountainside, this road, laid out in the 19th century towards Largentière, allows passing visitors to enjoy an incredible panorama of the limestone cliffs, the green valleys and the Ardèche which flows quietly to the west of the village. Fans of cycling? Get into your "bolide" for a rather sporty ride on the Via Ardèche cycle track which, from Ruoms, will take you in the direction of Grospierres, Labeaume, Cirque de Gens, Vogüé or Vallon-Pont-d'Arc, A tourist resort known for its Chauvet Cave, which will take you back in history, as well as for its gorges and its famous Pont d'Arc, a magnificent and poetic stone arch overlooking the Ardèche, which has fascinated hikers and kayak enthusiasts for years. In addition to horse riding, walking or cycling, Ruoms and its surroundings are particularly well known for the practice of sensational activities, most of which are accessible from a very young age accompanied by instructors. What's on the programme? Canoeing and kayaking on the Ardèche, tree climbing, climbing, canyoning and caving! Finally, the Ardèche is also famous for its magnificent swimming environment, in the heart of wild and intimate landscapes, or from small beaches.
