Settled in a green setting, on the Crozon peninsula, Morgat is certainly one of the most beautiful seaside resorts in Finistère. Its idyllic setting, turquoise coves and authentic village attract many holidaymakers every year.
With a view of the Atlantic Ocean, this small haven of peace nestled in the hollow of Douarnenez Bay is a prestigious destination, perfect for exploring the secrets of the Breton coastline. This former sardinian port acquired its letters of nobility at the end of the 19th century to become a seaside resort very appreciated by holidaymakers, in search of calm and walks in a breathtaking setting. Located within the Marine Park of Iroise and the Regional Natural Park of Armorique, Morgat enjoys a preserved environment, which contributes to its success.
How can we talk about Morgat without mentioning its beaches ? Renowned among the inhabitants, the Virgin Island beach between Morgat and Cap de la Chèvre is ranked 7th most beautiful beach in Europe. Wild and preserved, it is a true little corner of paradise on earth and arouses the wonder of those who have the opportunity to go there. Accessible by the GR34, it is relatively little frequented but worth seeing. Its small white pebbles contrast with the blue of the water and the green of the pine forest that surrounds this magnificent cove. Thanks to its transparent waters, the place is ideal for diving : don't forget your masks and snorkels ! As for Morgat beach, it would be ranked 14th most beautiful beach in the world... Its wide expanse attracts families because of its clear waters and fine sand. Very lively, it will allow you to practice a wide range of activities for young and old : if the place is ideal for an initiation to diving to discover the richness of the seabed of the island, you can also rent a dinghy, a catamaran, windsurfing, kitesurfing, kayaking or canoeing, as well as surfing in one of the most recognized spots of the Breton coast. At Morgat cove, Porzic beach is nestled between the points of the Caves and Rulianec. Relatively little frequented, this beach dug in the cliff and isolated from the winds will be perfect for long afternoons of idleness under the Breton sun. By kayak, from this beach, venture to the famous Cave of the Altar, which is one of the three largest sea caves on the peninsula, accessible only by sea. Its amazing colours and almost magical atmosphere are absolutely worth a look.
This holiday in the green will allow you to discover many hiking routes, through winding, steep or open paths, which will lead you each time until sumptuous panoramas. The famous GR 34 also criss-crosses the Morgat coast, from the Menhir site (at Crozon) to Cap de la Chèvre. In all, there are more than 100 kilometres of paths that cross the peninsula, through fields, coastal paths, Kador wood, megalithic alignments, calvaries, coves and cliffs. There are as many trails as there are absolutely sumptuous panoramas to discover !
Finally, Brittany would not be as famous without its legendary gastronomy. Take advantage of your stay to enjoy fresh local produce such as fish and shellfish, not forgetting Plougastel strawberries. Kouign-amann, "kig ha farz" (a kind of pot-au-feu with buckwheat), pancakes and cakes sprinkled with raw cider : rarely dietetic but often generous, the local cuisine will satisfy the gourmand.

See the small port of Morgat, don't hesitate to explore the whole of the Crozon peninsula (there are many beautiful places to visit), take in the GR 34, enjoy the scenery on offer. Go to Camaret where there are excellent creperies! Brittany is very beautiful and the Bretons are welcoming (and in October it's super quiet).

Morgat is a small and very friendly seaside town. The poêlée de St Jacques and the Irish coffee (prepared by the owner) is divine at Della Spiaggia If you want a more cosy restaurant, L'Hostellerie de la Mer in the village Le Fret at about 8km is perfect (reserve because it is often full).
