It is in the south of Finistère, a few steps from Pont-l'Abbé and 30 minutes from Quimper, that the commune of Treffiagat is located. In Cornwall, and more precisely in the heart of the Pays Bigouden Sud, this coastal town on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean is a real nugget. Cultural, historical and endowed with a splendid heritage, Treffiagat is divided into two parts, one comprising a town, the other concentrated around its maritime part, named Léchiagat. Facing the port of Guilvinec from which it is separated by the Steir estuary and its ria, Treffiagat, like most seaside destinations in Brittany, has a marked historical heritage that you can take the time to discover during your excursions. Here, the visitor is invited to leave his car behind and prefer gentle travel, on foot, in a gyropod or by bike, to take the time to discover the unique beauty of this Finistère town. In terms of heritage, there are many sites to add to your holiday "to-di list", starting with the many menhirs that dot the territory of the town. The menhir of Lehan, 4 meters high and located in the middle of a pond just behind the dunes, but also the menhir of Squividan, and the menhir of Quélarn, both classified as Historic Monuments, will tell you the ancient history of the village of Treffiagat. Brittany is a religious land with many churches and chapels, and Treffiagat is no exception to the rule, with the church of Saint-Riagat de Treffiagat, the church of Notre-Dame-des-Flots on the Léchiagat side, and the Saint-Fiacre chapel. There are many fountains in the heart of the village, and if those of Saint-Laurent and Saint-Fiacre have long been considered miraculous, it is the fountain of Kerléguer which is the most popular in Treffiagat, known to have supplied the town with drinking water for centuries. The manor house of Lestrégiagat, the beautiful granite houses that dot the village and the fishermen's quarter with its small typical houses will complete your discovery of the local heritage. And to make sure you don't miss out on anything, there are several circuits accessible to young and old alike, starting with the multimedia circuit, or the menhir circuit.

In Treffiagat, hikers and lovers of wide open spaces can enjoy a break in the open air, perfect for rejuvenation and exercise. After visiting the town and the Pointe district, take the time to walk along the coast. Thanks to more than 4.5 kilometres of superb beaches bordered by dunes, the commune of Treffiagat is absolutely perfect for both sporting and contemplative walks. Via the GR34 and the GRP in the direction of Lesconil and the Eckmühl lighthouse 9 kilometres away, via the cycle route, the health trail and the coastal routes, not forgetting a detour to the lighthouse enclosure, there's nothing better than hiking to discover the rich heritage of the region! On the beach side, in addition to swimming and relaxing under the sun, from the beaches of Pors Treillen, Lehan, Squividan or from the beach of Reun, you can indulge in a whole range of water sports activities according to your desires. Sailing, canoeing, paddling, coastal fishing and other gourmet breaks in the town's restaurants will give your stay a little taste of adventure!
