Trois-Rivières, or in Guadeloupean Creole "Twarivyè", is one of those pearls of which Guadeloupe has the secret. Spread over a little more than 31 square kilometers in total, the commune is located at the very south of the island of Basse-Terre, and is surrounded by the cities of Vieux-Fort, Gourbeyre and Capesterre-Belle-Eau. Gathering many hamlets scattered on the slope of its mountain, Trois-Rivières reveals magnificent small houses surrounded by a luxuriant vegetation, houses which go down towards the sea and offer to contemplate panoramas of postcard. The name Trois-Rivières comes from the presence of three rivers on its territory: the Petit Cabret River, the Grande Anse River and the Trou au Chien River. Here, it is a hiker's paradise because of the varied relief of the territory: from the beaches to the summit of La Citerne (1155 meters of altitude), passing by the first foothills of La Soufrière, here, the ideas of sporting or contemplative outings are numerous, and everyone will find his happiness!
