To discover its amazing charms, we advise you to start your visit with a walk along the port of La Grande Motte: according to the 1500 rings of this quiet port labelled "Heritage of the 20th century", sheltered by the Bay of Aigues Mortes, you can contemplate very beautiful views both on the sea and on the city. The municipality of La Grande Motte itself is also worth a visit: with its extraordinary façades, its original fronts and convoluted buildings, La Grande Motte is a true open-air museum. Thanks to 25 kilometres of paths, footbridges, tracks and pedestrian alleys, it will be easy for you to discover the Levant district (city centre) with its large Pyramid, the Place des 3 pouvoirs and its labyrinth, the Saint-Jean footbridge, the Palais des Congrès, the Capitainerie, or even the Saint-Augustin church. On the opposite side, you will find the district of Le Couchant and its Lampadophores footbridge, its Cosmos square, its Ancients of Indochina square, as well as its residences in "Conques de Vénus" and "bishop's hat". Finally, the Ponant district, with the Point Zéro, the golf course, the footbridge of the abysses, the promenade des Vents and the Poisson building will complete your visit to La Grande Motte, whether you choose to visit it on foot, by bicycle, by mini-train, by electric scooter or by gyropod. Several thematic routes also criss-cross the city, so we recommend taking "La Grande Boucle" (12 kilometres), the "Pyramides Courbées" (4.5 kilometres) or the "Parcours des Parcs" (3 kilometres) and "L'empreinte de l'architecte Balladur" to discover all the secrets of the town, from its sea to its beaches, passing through its city centre and its lakes.
With 7 kilometres of beaches, sometimes private and sometimes public, with festive, wild (like the Grand Travers Beach), family (like the Sunset Beach) or sporting atmospheres, you will necessarily find the perfect place for your afternoons under the sun. If you are fond of water sports, then if you are definitely in the right place on the beaches of La Grande Motte. Rowing at the Club du Ponant, Yacht Club, sailing school, towed buoy, cruises at sea, catamaran, paddle, Wake-Park, hiking, kitesurfing, water skiing, jet skiing, kneeboarding, wake-boarding, surfing, diving, fishing... La Grande-Motte is surrounded by many beaches such as Espiguette and Maguelone. Also, we can make visits not very far by car like Aigue-Morte where a restaurant is very good: "L'Oustou Camarguais".
