Flumet, a pretty village in the Val d'Arly Mont-Blanc, is authentic, dynamic and full of character. Ancient fortified city rich in a generous architectural and natural heritage, Flumet offers its visitors the opportunity to spend a good holiday in both winter and summer, in an absolutely superb preserved setting. Skiing, hiking, swimming or rest, there will be something for everyone!
Established under the protective eye of Mont-Blanc on its rocky spur perched at an altitude of 900 metres, the village resort of Flumet is one of those mountain villages where life is good. Dominating the torrents of the Arrondisse and Arly, its city centre made of medieval alleys is punctuated by beautiful traditional residences as well as ancient monuments, such as its medieval church. Connected to the immense Espace Diamant between the Beaufortain and the Val d'Arly, Flumet promises its visitors, who are keen on skiing, more than 159 ski slopes, notably between Les Saisies, Hauteluce, Praz-sur-Arly, Notre-Dame de Bellecombe and Flumet. A major family-friendly area, it offers you a wide range of activities: during the winter, you can ski, snowboard, cross-country ski, toboggan, yooner, snowscoot, ski jöring, ski touring, but also learn to slide on thematic trails, or, if you like adrenaline and original activities, take hot air balloon rides to observe the snowy summits from the sky. On skis, several itineraries are not to be missed, such as the one of Saute-Mouton, famous for its breathtaking panoramas of Mont-Blanc, the Porte des Avaris, the Pierra Menta and the Giotte dam. If the red slopes "Petite Caste" and "Gypaète" as well as the black slope "Aigle" will satisfy experienced skiers, the green and blue slopes "Weasel", "Chamois" and "Marmotte" of the Flumet - Le Evettes sector will allow beginner skiers to train in complete tranquility. For cross-country skiing, a beautiful 2.5 km loop bordering the Arrondine lake will allow you to enjoy an easy walk, while the 50 km of marked trails in the Val d'Arly Mont-Blanc valley will allow you to enjoy more sporting walks, for all levels. Snowshoeing excursions will give you the opportunity to discover or rediscover at your own pace the most beautiful landscapes of Flumet and its surroundings. Through the mountain pastures, undergrowth, snow-covered passes and neighbouring villages, a total of more than 50 kilometres of marked routes await you, to allow you, in addition to the pleasure of the eyes, to enjoy a good breath of fresh air. From Flumet to Saint Nicolas la Chapelle, the "Tré le Sez" loop will take you through forests and mountain pastures, while the "Boucle des Carrés", overlooking Chaucisse, will offer you breathtaking views of Mont-Blanc. More sporty, the "Evettes" loop will give you direct access to the superb Lac des Evettes, as well as to the panorama of the Val d'Arly. Our good advice: don't forget your camera to capture (especially at sunrise) the amazing light that emanates from these landscapes! The "du Gâteau" summit dominates the entire Flumet ski area and, like Mont Charvin, Roc des Evettes and Mont Reguet, will offer you magnificent views of the entire resort and Mont-Blanc. While you climb the mountains, the youngest ones can discover the pleasures of skiing in the "Piou-Piou" club (from 3 years old), or opt for sleigh rides to discover the resort's smallest secrets.
Finally, during the summer, Flumet, on the Route des Grandes Alpes, is the starting point for a multitude of hiking and cycling excursions: with its 30 mountain bike trails and 300 kilometres of marked trails, Flumet and the Val d'Arly Mont-Blanc are sure to delight sports enthusiasts. Its lake, equipped for swimming, will allow you to relax under the sun in a rural setting and its fish-bearing bodies of water (such as Lac des Evettes in particular) will undoubtedly be the favourite playground of fishermen. Finally, you can also practice climbing, paragliding, via ferrata, rafting, canyoning and mountainboarding in the resort.
