The notoriety of the bay of Cavalaire is no longer to be done. Ideally located between Saint-Tropez and Le Lavandou, the seaside resort of Cavalaire sur Mer combines sun, sea and traditions with flair. Since its creation in 1929, it has been built as a quiet tourist commune, strong of its Provençal culture and its precious link with the sea.
Its long sandy beaches, lulled by the warm waters of the Mediterranean, await you for a gentle holiday. There are plenty of activities on the coast of Cavalaire : diving, sailing, jet skiing and even flyboarding ! Whether you want to discover the seabed or browse the waves of the bay, the nautical station gives you the embarrassment of choice ! Also go to meet the coast of Provence and its many islands during excursions at sea.
Cavalaire sur Mer is also a city of traditions. Provençal culture is proudly celebrated through gastronomy, festivals and numerous associations that perpetuate the spirit of the region. Come to discover the culinary specialties on the market in Place Saint-Jean. On the menu : tapenade, olives, pan bagnat, tarte tropézienne... And to take full advantage of the richness of the bay, go to the fish market where products are displayed just emerged from the water. The city comes alive at the Feast of Saint Peter, patron saint of fishermen, to celebrate those who keep his motor activity alive. Dances and folk songs are on the program, as well as historical processions on land and at sea.
On the history side, it should be noted that the true origins of the bay go back to a particularly distant time. Indeed, other peoples inhabited it long before the creation of the commune. Several sites found throughout the 20th century are presented by the Municipal Archaeological Area. Remains of the fortress of the Ligurians on the Montjean from the 6th to the 4th century BC. J-C. to the submarine wrecks of the bottom of the bay, the museum unveils the buried secrets of the city.
Artistic side, the Municipal Office of Culture organizes throughout the year performances and exhibitions of arts and music of which some (the Caval'Air Jazz Festival and the Salon of the Arts) are world-wide recognized.

The walk from the beach of Escalet to Cap Taillat is to be done! 2 versions: a quiet version on the trail and a sporty version on the rocks along the shore. Excellent.

Wine bar "La Grange" at La croix Valmer. Very nice aperitif with delicious boards and all this in a very green setting. Really nice. Guitarist who hosted the evening at the top and very nice personal.

Very pretty city, all shops, beautiful beaches, very well located to discover the region. The merchants are friendly. "Rum Caffee" serves monstrous mixed boards! Boat trip to Saint Tropez very cool and visit creeks on a small boat very pleasant!
