In the heart of Haute-Savoie, the small village of Morillon stretches over the Giffre valley. This tourist resort has not lost its charm of yesteryear : its Savoyard authenticity through its architectural heritage and the pastoral tradition that has lasted for generations. Morillon Village is the ideal destination for holidaymakers who wish to enjoy winter sports while maintaining a calm and family atmosphere.
Morillon, it's all-you-can-eat skiing! His wonderful ski area is known for having trained Olympic downhill champion Antoine Dénériaz. The variety of its slopes allows skiers of all levels to find their happiness. The resort of Morillon has joined those of Samoëns, Flaine, Sixt and Les Carroz, allowing skiers to enjoy an even greater diversity of slopes. This complex forms the immense linked domain of the Grand Massif, which has 265 kilometres of slopes. Snow sports enthusiasts will not be left out either, several snow parks and play areas are scattered on the different resorts. Accessible to beginners, advanced and even children, incredible sensations await all those who venture there. From the village, also enjoy cross-country ski trails on the trails reserved for this discipline stretching over the plain.
During the summer, Morillon keeps his contagious dynamism! The amateurs of strong sensations and beautiful landscapes will rush towards paragliding and helicopter. Both sports give the opportunity to observe the valley from a new angle. After overlooking the village and its surroundings and rubbing shoulders with the titanic peaks, you will be taken by an amazing feeling of freedom barely feet on the ground.
During the summer period, Morillon also organises numerous events which colour the village with a festive and convivial atmosphere. In July, find the Europe Musa Academy festival on world music and the world of jazz. A good opportunity for music lovers to open their horizons during multiple concerts and shows or to perfect their skills in dedicated workshops. At the beginning of August, the commune welcomes every year the music and entertainment group Les Choucas for the event "Y'a le Feu au Lac". On the programme : a show, laughter, joy and a magnificent fireworks display around the Blue Lake. Finally, if you feel you've tried every sport imaginable, don't miss Unusual Activities Week ! In Morillon, discover many sports and activities from here and elsewhere that you have probably never heard of. We start with speedminton, a variant of badminton that is played outdoors and without net, then we try mölkky, a skill game of Finnish origin that consists in scoring 50 points by throwing numbered pins, and we continue with pétéca, aquafight, discgolf... and many others !
