Called the "key to the Gulf", Larmor-Baden is one of those Breton cities that are hard to forget. Ideally located in the heart of the Gulf of Morbihan, the one that counts among the first oyster ports of Southern Brittany is a real paradise for all nature lovers.
Facing Arzon and Locmariaquer, Larmor-Baden is one of these multifaceted destinations, perfect for family holidays. Crowned by the islands of Berder, Gavrinis, Radenec and Ile Longue, this seaside resort with its discreet charm is made up of small white houses with slate roofs, proudly standing facing the blue waters of the Gulf of Morbihan, reputed to be one of the prettiest corners of Brittany. Larmor-Baden is an active marina, living to the rhythm of the tides and the comings and goings of the boats, Larmor-Baden has a very beautiful historical heritage to discover during your holidays in Brittany. Take the time to stroll in the heart of the village and then along the quays of the port to take the pulse of this ever moving city. Push open the door of the 19th century Church of Our Lady, St. Anne's Chapel, before setting off to discover the Larmor-Banden Islands. The island of Gavrinis is worth seeing: with its cairn dating back to the 4th millennium BC, this true jewel of Prehistory enjoys a worldwide reputation due to the splendour of its ornaments. Nicknamed by some the "Sistine Chapel of the Neolithic", it is definitely a must see on your holiday in Larmor-Baden. Also take a tour of Berder Island (2.6 kilometres): private but accessible to visitors, this island with its dense (and amazing!) Mediterranean vegetation is a real little haven of peace. Family? We advise you to make a short stop at the old marshes of Pen en Toul. Rich in abundant flora and fauna, this site spread over more than 40 hectares has discovery trails that will allow you to observe birds, from the white spoonbill to the little egret, not to mention the grey heron and the kingfisher, not to mention a wide variety of butterflies, including 42 diurnal species.
Hiking enthusiasts? Staying in Larmor-Baden is definitely a good idea. Constellated with a myriad of marked paths across its land but also (and above all!) along the sea, this charming town offers its visitors a vast network of trails perfect for discovering its most beautiful faces. In the direction of Baden, on the seafront, from the Bay of Paludo to the tip of Berchis, passing through the port of Pen Lannic, the submersible causeway leading to the island of Berder, the Anse de Kerdelan, Locmiquel and Port-Lagaden, you will be led to discover all the magnificence of the seaside resort's coastline.
Finally, how can we talk about Larmor-Baden without mentioning its beaches? Appreciated for its long stretch of fine sand, Locmiquel beach is loved by families. Here, sandcastle contests and family bathing are the order of the day, but fans of fishing on foot are also happy to meet here as the tides change. As for the beach of the Seven Islands, it is a real little compendium of the best of the Gulf of Morbihan: clear sand, translucent water, nautical activities (surfing, sailing, kayaking...), everything is there for perfect days under the Breton sun.
